2021 NFL Draft Pick 133: Saints Select Ian Book

With the 133rd pick of the 2021 NFL Draft, Ian Book was drafted by the New Orleans Saints.

In 45 games in college Ian had 8,948 yards, 72 touchdowns and 20 interceptions. He added 361 rushes for 1,517 yards and 17 touchdowns. He was on the All-ACC Third Team after the 2020 season, his senior year, and is Notre Dame’s winningest quarterback in history.

Fantasy Implications

Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill are only on one year deals in 2021. I would suspect that Book is a back-up in a year, behind whomever of Winston and Hill are resigned. He is undersized for what most teams want, but Sean Payton has made due with that before. He is better at making plays with his feet than keeping them alive in the passing game. In all reality he is probably a long-term back-up in the league.
