Happy Holidays and welcome to the Top 12 Quarterback Plays for Week 12. Thursday is Thanksgiving in the United States and that means 3 NFL games will be on Thursday as the Lions will host the Bears, the Raiders will visit the Cowboys and the Buffalo Bills travel to New Orleans to take on the Saints. Week 11 saw some pretty good performances from a couple of different quarterbacks. Aaron Rodgers threw 4 touchdowns, Jalen Hurts ran for 3 scores, Justin Herbert tossed 3 scores and threw for 382 yards, and then there was the return of Cam Newton. What big games could we expect for Week 12? Let’s take a look!
Top 12 Quarterback Plays for Week 12
Tom Brady vs IND
Tom Brady leads the NFL with 29 touchdown passes. The Colts have allowed the most passing touchdowns through 10 games with 25, they have also allowed 2715 passing yards. To go along with the 29 touchdown passes, Brady has also thrown 3177 yards good for a 317.7 yards per game average which also leads the NFL. The Colts defense has only allowed 4 rushing touchdowns this season, forcing opponents to throw the ball. Look for Brady, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Rob Gronkowski to have good games on Sunday.
Josh Allen at NO (Thurs)
Josh Allen has great arm strength and a bunch of good receiving options in Stefon Diggs, Emmanuel Sanders, Cole Beasley, and Dawson Knox. The Bill will be traveling to New Orleans to face the Saints in the late game on Thursday night. The Saints have allowed 13 scores through the air and 2522 yards passing. Jalen Hurts ran for 3 touchdowns against the Saints on Sunday and Josh Allen is known to run the ball as well as throw it. This season, Allen has 2811 yards passing and 21 scores along with 3 rushing touchdowns and 340 yards on the ground.
Matthew Stafford at GB
Matthew Stafford heads to a familiar sight on Sunday, as the Rams head to Green Bay. Week 12 could be a different result as Stafford is quarterbacking the LA Rams instead of the Detroit Lions. Stafford has thrown for 3014 yards and 24 scores. Stafford lost receiver Robert Woods for the season due to an injury, but he still has Cooper Kupp, Van Jefferson, and newly signed Odell Beckham Jr. The Packers defense has allowed 2345 yards and 18 touchdowns through the air this season.
Lamar Jackson vs CLE
Lamar Jackson missed Week 11 due to a non-COVID-related illness, and will hopefully be able to play against the Cleveland Browns in Week 12. Lamar has rushed for 639 yards and 2 scores through 9 games. He has also thrown for 2447 yards and 14 touchdowns. The Ravens were without Hollywood Brown on Sunday as well. Brown is a part of the Ravens receiving corps that consists of Mark Andrews and Rashod Bateman. The Browns’ defense has allowed 21 passing touchdowns and 2369 yards through the first 11 games.
Cam Newton at MIA
Cam Newton was started his first game for the Carolina Panthers in over 2 years. Cam completed 21 of 27 passes for 189 yards and 2 scores, while adding 46 rushing yards and another score. Newton has seemed to give the Panthers a spark on offense. He has McCaffrey, DJ Moore, and even Robbie Anderson started catching passes. The Panthers will travel south to take on the Miami Dolphins in Week 12. Miami has allowed the most passing yards to opponents, being the only team giving up more than 3000 yards to start the season. The Dolphins are also tied for the fourth most scores allowed with 20.
Dak Prescott vs LV
Dak Prescott will be a tricky quarterback to guage this week. Coming off of a short week to play the Raiders on Thursday, Dak will more than likely be without his 2 top targets in Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb. Dak will still have Michael Gallup, Cedrick Wilson and Dalton Schultz as his main receiving targets. Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard will also catch the ball a lot out of the backfield. The Raiders have been struggling since the Jon Gruden news and the Henry Ruggs situation. The Raiders have only allowed 2208 yards receiving but have given up 18 touchdowns to opponents.
Aaron Rodgers vs LAR
Aaron Rodgers is coming off of a 4 touchdown and 385 yard performance against the Minnesota Vikings. In Week 12, the Packers will be hosting the Los Angeles Rams, whom have a better defense than the Vikings. The reigning MVP has 2571 yards and 21 touchdowns passing through the first 11 games of the season. Rodgers has perhaps one of the better wide receivers in the NFL in Davante Adams that will always help him in tough games. The Rams’ defense has allowed 2417 yards and only 12 touchdowns this season.
Jalen Hurts at NYG
I feel like some fantasy football players are down on Jalen Hurts. For the 2021 season, Hurts has averaged just under 210 yards and just over 1 touchdown a game. However, he might run the ball more on the Eagles than there running backs and averages 0.73 touchdowns a game and 56.2 rushing yards per game. In Week 11, Hurts threw for 147 yards and 0 touchdowns, but he ran for 69 yards and 3 scores versus the Saints. The Eagles will fly to the Meadowlands to the there division rivals, the New York Giants, in Week 12. The Giants defense has allowed 2557 yards and 18 scores to opponents in 2021.
Kirk Cousins at SF
Kirk Cousins is having one of his better seasons. He has three games this season where he has tossed 3 scores and over 300 yards, he has thrown 2 or more scores in 7 of the first 10 games, and thrown only 2 interceptions. Cousins has thrown for 2775 yards and 21 touchdowns through the first 10 weeks. The Vikings will travel to San Francisco to face the 49ers in Week 12. San Fran has allowed 2024 yards which is the third fewest in the NFL and 13 scores. Cousins has star wide receivers Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen to catch the ball and help continue to make 2021 one of the better seasons for Kirk Cousins.
Justin Hurbert at DEN
Justin Herbert is coming off of one his best performances of the season against the Steelers. Herbert compiled 382 yards and 3 touchdowns will help leading the Los Angeles Chargers beat the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football. Herbert has a lot of weapons in Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, tight end Jared Cook, and Austin Ekeler. The Chargers will travel to the Mile High City to face the Broncos in Week 12. The Broncos have allowed only 2181 yards and 13 touchdowns passing to opponents so far in 2021.
Joe Burrow vs PIT
Joe Burrow has thrown for mutliple touchdowns from Week 1 to Week 8. Unfortunatly, he was only threw 1 touchdown the last 2 games he played. He has thrown for 2645 yards and 21 touchdowns on the season. Burrow has been able re-kindle the chemistry in the passing game with former LSU teammate Ja’marr Chase, will still throwing to Tyler Boyd and Tee Higgins. The Bengals will host the Steelers in Week 12. The Steelers have allowed 2407 yards and 15 scores in 2021. Burrow only threw for 172 yards but had 3 scores when these teams faced off in Week 3.
Russell Wilson at WAS (MNF)
Russell Wilson has been struggling since he has come back after missing 4 games from injury. He has only been able to throw for 368 yards and 0 touchdowns in those 2 weeks. The Seattle Seahawks will travel to Washington to face the Washington Football Team in Week 12. Washington has allowed 2700 yards and 24 touchdowns to opponents. Wilson will have DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett to throw to and help him get back on track.
