Drew Lock Fantasy Outlook 2021
In this article, we are going to cover the Drew Lock fantasy outlook for 2021. We will share where we think he will rank amongst all quarterbacks in 2021. Should you buy, hold or sell? Will Drew Lock be more or less valuable in 2022? Do we think he is going to be a league winner, weekly starter, flex play, spot starter, dark horse or dart throw? Included is all of this as well as personal opinions of the 13 people that participated from the RotoHeat staff.
Drew Lock Fantasy Outlook 2021: What is His Weekly Playability?
None of us felt that Lock was a clear Weekly Starter in leagues this season, and there was a wide variance overall. Six of the 14 felt he was a spot starter, and four felt he was a dart throw. Those that believe in him as someone you can spot start had thoughts like “I like Lock to win the QB battle in Denver and for him to improve as a real life and fantasy QB.”
Weekly Flex: 1
Spot Starter: 6
Dark Horse: 2
Dart Throw: 4
League Winner: 1
We even had some that liked him, but felt that the trade for Teddy Bridgewater was a foreboding sign for him “I actually like Drew Lock, but I dont think Denver does. I expect him to lose his job at some point this year.”
Drew Lock Fantasy Outlook 2021: More, Same or Less Valuable in 2022 Dynasty Offseason?
One thing we want to cover for all the dynasty managers is whether or not we believe a player will gain value between now and this time next year. When it comes to Lock, there was a mixed bag, with lower coming up slightly ahead of higher.
As you can see there was not much middle ground. Lock is a player you either believe in this year or don’t. One analyst stated “Not a fan of his talent and I’m not expecting him to be a starter for very long this year or into the future. I’m all the way out on Lock” while another said “I just really think everyone is forgetting how he finished last year. Lock is finally getting a real off-season with the returning OC which by the way doesn’t happen to him. He has the work ethic and the desire and heart to succeed.” This was par for the course for most of the thoughts.
Drew Lock Fantasy Outlook 2021: Buy, Sell or Hold?
This one had everyone pretty much evenly split, with “Hold” having the highest total by a slim margin. As one analyst put it, “His value is not great right now so you aren’t going to get much for him, but at the same time I don’t want to buy and risk him busting”.
Another that was buying though said “With Courtland Sutton back and growth from Jeudy and Hamler, I think Lock can take a step forward and at least be a weekly flex for SuperFlex leagues and a potential streamer for 1QB leagues in 2021”.
Drew Lock Fantasy Outlook 2021: Where Will He Rank vs. All Quarterbacks?
When it was all said and done, the 14 analysts predicted where Lock would finish. As you can guess from the review so far, there was a wide berth of answers. A QB10 finish is a starter in nearly all leagues, while QB31 is not someone you would have as a starter in 2QB leagues, much less superflex leagues.
Drew Lock Fantasy Outlook 2021: Conclusion
Overall Drew Lock is a polarizing player for the RotoHeat team. If we want to try and draw some conclusions, many felt he would be an acceptable spot start or flex, and that he value is going to be lower next year than it is now. This creates a great buying opportunity though if you do believe in this year and down the road.
