Welcome to Week 11! Also, welcome to the Top 12 Quarterback Plays for Week 11! The last couple of weeks have had some surprises, I’m still trying to figure out the Bills losing to Jacksonville 6-9 in Week 9. There are some injuries that we need to take into consideration for Week 11.
The Browns’ quarterback Baker Mayfield is considered day to day with a knee injury. I’m not sure if he is someone that I would want to start outside of Superflex leagues this week, even in a favorable matchup versus the Lions.
Steelers’ quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is still on the COVID list as of Tuesday as well. The Steelers have said that if Ben is cleared to play he will start against the LA Chargers Sunday night. The Chargers have a decent pass defense that has only allowed 1,854 yards through the air this season.
Let’s take a look at the quarterbacks I am considering to be the top plays for Week 11!
Top 12 Quarterback Plays for Week 11
1Dak Prescott at KC
2Lamar Jackson at CHI
Lamar Jackson had a huge letdown game against the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night. It was his second-lowest passing yards thrown for this season with 238, and his 39 rushing yards were the second-fewest rushing yards in 9 games as well. Jackson will always have the rushing upside to go along with the passing stats, and last week was just the outlier for the season. Jackson has thrown for just 1 touchdown in all but 2 games this season, however, he is averaging 71 rushing yards a game, which in most formats is almost 2 more passing touchdowns a game.
The Ravens will travel to Chi-town to take on the Bears on Sunday. The 2,035 passing yards Chicago has given up is the 7th fewest in the NFL at this point in the season.
3Josh Allen vs IND
The Buffalo Bills’ quarterback Josh Allen had a nice bounce back against the New York Jets. He threw for 366 yards, the fourth time that he threw for over 300 yards in the first 9 games and added 2 touchdowns. Allen can make plays with his legs as well, as he rushed for 322 yards and 3 scores. Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills will host the Indianapolis Colts for a Week 11 matchup. The Colts’ secondary hasn’t been too reliable, as they have allowed the most touchdowns and the 7th most passing yards to opponents.
4Aaron Rodgers at MIN
Week 10, against the Seahawks, was only the second time all season that Aaron Rodgers didn’t throw a touchdown in a game he played in. The first was the embarrassing blowout loss in Week 1 to the Saints. Rodgers has thrown for 2,186 yards and 17 scores in 2021. Rodgers and company will head to Minnesota to face the Vikings in an NFC North rivalry game. The Vikings have allowed 2,147 yards this season, however Aaron Rodgers has averaged 245 yards and 2 scores in 25 games against the Vikings during his career.
5Tom Brady vs NYG
Tom Brady has thrown for 2 or more touchdowns in 7 of Tampa Bay’s 9 games and 4 touchdowns or more in 5 of them. Brady is leading the NFL in passing touchdowns with 27 to go along with his 2,870 passing yards. Tom Brady has Mike Evans and Chris Godwin as his main weapons right now and should get Rob Gronkowski back soon. Antonio Brown might be a few weeks away. The Buccaneers will face the New York Giants on Monday Night Football in Week 11. The Giants have allowed 2,249 passing yards and 16 touchdowns in 2021.
6Ryan Tannehill vs HOU
Ryan Tannehill is another quarterback that has thrown for more than 1 touchdown only twice this season, which worked for the Titans up until a few weeks ago because Derrick Henry was running the ball like he was wearing the Infinity Gauntlet. Since Henry is hurt and more than likely out for the season, Tennessee has to find other ways to win. The Titans have had to rely on its defense and more of a running back by committee approach the last couple of weeks. Look for Tannehill to start passing more and have a good game against the Houston Texans’ defense.
7Kirk Cousins vs GB
Kirk Cousins has thrown for 2,434 yards and 18 scores this season. He was able to toss 2 touchdowns and 294 yards against the LA Chargers in Week 10. Cousins has Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen, and Dalvin Cook as his main weapons. Minnesota might have to resort to passing the ball more to keep up with the Green Bay Packers in Week 11. The Packers have allowed 2,027 yards through the air which is the 5th fewest in the NFL and 15 touchdowns this season.
8Joe Burrow at LV
Joe Burrow has thrown for at least 2 touchdowns in every game this season, except Week 9 versus the Browns when he failed to find the endzone. Through 9 games this season, he has thrown for more touchdowns than he did last season when he played 10 games. Burrow has 20 scores and 2,497 yards through 9 games. The Bengals head out to Sin City to face the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 11. The Raiders have given up 2,079 yards and 17 scores this season.
9Jalen Hurts vs NO
Much like Lamar Jackson, Jalen Hurts will give you fantasy points with his legs as well. The Philadelphia Eagles’ quarterback is averaging 54.7 rushing yards a game and 5 touchdowns this season. He has also thrown for 2,159 yards and 13 scores. The Eagles will host the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. The Saints’ secondary has allowed 13 scores and 2,384 yards through 9 weeks. Unfortunately, Hurts has thrown for under 200 yards in 5 of his last 6 games.
10Cam Newton vs WAS
Cam Newton said it best himself in the Panthers’ game versus the Cardinals in Week 10 when he shouted, “I’m Baaacckkk!” He ran for a touchdown and threw for one as PJ Walker started the game. Cam could end up starting this week for the Panthers as they host the Washington Football Team in Week 11. Washington has allowed 2,514 yards and 22 scores through the air in 2021. If Cam Newton is the starting quarterback, he could be a top quarterback play.
11Kyler Murray at SEA
Kyler Murray is questionable as of Tuesday and the Cardinals have a bye in Week 12. We could see Arizona resting him for another week to make a full recovery. If Murray plays, he could be a top quarterback play against the Seattle Seahawks. The Cardinals have been struggling at quarterback since Murray has missed time and Murray would be a huge boost to the Cardinals’ offense. The Seahawks have given up 12 touchdowns and 2478 yards to opposing quarterbacks.
12Derek Carr vs CIN
Derek Carr has thrown for 2 touchdowns in 7 of the first 9 games of the season, and he has not thrown for 3+ yet this season. His favorite targets are Darren Waller, Bryan Edwards, and Hunter Renfrow. Derek Carr and the Raiders have lost 4 of their last 6 games and didn’t score more than 16 points in those 4 losses. They will try to right the ship against the suddenly slumping Cincinnati Bengals in Week 11. The Bengals’ defense has given up 2,343 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2021.
