Three Quarterbacks to Stream Week 7
Welcome back to our Three Quarterbacks to Stream article series for Week 7 of the 2021 season! For those who are unaware, “stream” or “streaming” refers to starting a player in lieu of a regular starter on your fantasy football squad. Usually this is needed by having no other option, whereas one of your players are hurt or on bye. However, sometimes you may choose to stream a quarterback as a general season-long strategy or if the matchup/situation is better than your regular starter.
Especially in 1QB leagues, quarterbacks are streamed relatively frequently because each manager in a fantasy league only needs to start one QB, and generally half of said teams only roster a backup. This generally leaves a number of good quarterbacks available on waiver wires for managers to pick up in a pinch or when a matchup is almost “too good to be true!”
Each week I will be bringing you the top three quarterbacks to stream in your leagues. The goal of these articles is to identify a positive matchup in the current week to help you get that all important “W.”
1. Matt Ryan – Atlanta Falcons
The “Bye Blues” started last week, however they hit FOR REAL in Week 7. The Cowboys, Chargers, Bills, Jags, Vikings and Steelers are all on bye this week. That means I expect more eyeballs on this article than ever before! Fortunately, we have some answers for your QB woes!
To start things off, my first recommendation is for Matt “Matty Ice” Ryan. Coming off the bye and in a favorable matchup, I fully expect Matt Ryan to be a solid starter this week. Facing off against the Miami Dolphins, Ryan should be able to complete passes at will all over the field. Calvin Ridley is expected back, and so I believe both he and Pitts will be heavily involved. Cordarelle Patterson should be in the mix as well.
Having a full extra week to prepare should help the Falcons produce on both sides of the ball this Sunday. If you’re in a QB pickle, you can look no further than Matt Ryan. He is available in about half of fantasy leagues out there and is one of the best QB streamers for Week 7.
2. Teddy Bridgewater – Denver Broncos
The next QB on the list for QB streams in Week 7 is QB Teddy Bridgewater of the Denver Broncos. Yes, I’m aware his performance last week versus the Las Vegas Raiders was not perfect. He had three costly INTs and a fumble which altogether sealed their loss. However, he still passed for 334 yards and 3 scores and put up a solid fantasy performance for those who played him.
This week, I expect Teddy to continue to put up fantasy points. He and the Broncos play on the road against the Cleveland Browns. In what should be a competeitive game on Thursday Night Football, I expect Bridgewater to shine under the bright lights on Primetime TV. Feel free to fire up Teddy in week number 7!
3. Mac Jones – New England Patriots
Finally… the moment you’ve all been waiting for! The QB Stream of the week goes to “WHO!?” … Mac Jones!
Rookie QB Mac Jones has been doing his best Tom Brady impression this season and thus far has had much success overall. Just this past week against the Cowboys, Jones completed over 70 percent of his passes and threw for over 200 yards and 2 scores. Even though his team lost the game, Jones has proved all season he can effectively lead a team at QB and complete big time plays when needed.
This week, Mac Jones and the Patriots face off against the woeful New York Jets. Given such a nice matchup, I have Mac Jones as the best Week 7 streamer this week. I expect Mac Jones to finish around QB12-15 and as a quick fill in you could do much worse! Start Mac Jones with confidence and get that victory in week 7!
