Three DSTs to Stream Week 5
Streaming is a fantasy football strategy that fantasy managers use when they don’t have starters on their rosters that they trust entering any particular week during the fantasy season.
When it comes to DSTs, streaming is actually a fair bit better than starting the same DST almost every week. The top-scoring DST of 2020, the LA Rams, scored 151 points. The 5th best option at DST each week (likely streaming candidates) scored 196 points. As you can see, DSTs are not about averaging the highest fantasy points per game, but it’s about hitting spike weeks from DSTs with good matchups.
Streaming DSTs is the way, and RotoHeat is here to tell you what DSTs to target every week of the 2021 NFL Fantasy Football season. These are the three DSTs to Stream Week 5.
New England Patriots DST (vs. Texans)

The Texans just gave up 23 fantasy points to the Bills DST in Week 4, and it was not due to a defensive or special teams score, just purely getting after rookie QB Davis Mills.
The Patriots’ defense has looked solid so far this season, and they put up 19 fantasy points against another rookie QB, Zach Wilson, in Week 2. Bill Belichick is known for haunting rookie QBs, and Davis Mills is in for another tough outing in Week 5 against a good Patriots defense.
Dallas Cowboys DST (vs. Giants)

The Cowboys DST is quietly the fifth-best DST in fantasy, and now they get a match-up against a normally turnover-prone Daniel Jones. Jones has been better at protecting the football this season, but the Dallas defense is getting good pressure on opposing QBs.
Under Dan Quinn, the Cowboys DST is producing sacks and turnovers, making them a good play in fantasy and one of three DSTs to Stream Week 5.
New Orleans Saints DST (vs. WFT)

DSTs are a fickle beast and always tough to predict. Last week, the Saints were in 3 DSTs to Stream but bombed and gave just 2 points against the Giants. The Saints DST could have a bounce-back game against the Washington Football Team.
WFT doesn’t usually give up a lot of points, but the Saints have had success defending against less mobile quarterbacks. Whilst Heinicke is not purely a pocket passer, he doesn’t run the ball as much as we have seen Sam Darnold and Daniel Jones run this season.
