DFS Value Plays is a big part of Daily Fantasy Sports. Finding value isn’t always easy but could be the more entertaining part of building your weekly lineups. Finding value in DFS means finding those players that will outscore their current salary value and help you propel to the top. The players I looked at this week have a player priced in the middle of their position and a lower value player in case you are looking for a player to possibly get you 10-15 points at little cost. I have taken a look at the salaries for the main slate on, the following are the options I would consider DFS value plays for Week 5.

DFS Value Plays: Quarterback

Joe Burrow, Cin @ Bal; DK = $6000

There are less expensive options than Burrow who is listed at $6000. They would include, Bridgewater against the Falcons, Wentz against the Steelers, and Fitzpatrick facing the 49ers. However, Burrow has the second most air yards through the first four weeks of the season, according to, behind only Dak Prescott. He has also thrown for over 300 yards his past 3 games. He only threw for 1 score against Jacksonville, but Joe Mixon carried the Bengals to victory there. Baltimore gave up over 275 yards passing the last 3 games to Deshaun Watson, Patrick Mahomes, and Dwayne Haskins. With the weapons at his disposal, there is no reason not to expect Burrow to join that list.

DFS Value Plays: Running Backs

Mike Davis, Car @ Atl; DK = $6400

$6400 doesn’t sound like a good DFS value play. When it comes to Mike Davis, it is. In the last 3 weeks, Davis has scored 15.5 points against Tampa Bay (McCaffrey started the game), 23.1 points versus the Chargers, and 22.1 points against the Cardinals. Bridgewater has targeted Davis 23 times over those 3 games and he has caught 21 of those passes. Davis has only 2 scores on the season, but he does have 131 yards rushing and 146 yards receiving during this span. Carolina plays the Falcons this week, who is 29th versus running backs on Atlanta also seemed to have issues stopping the Green Bay running backs on Monday Night Football.

D’Ernest Johnson, Cle @ Ind; DK = $4700

Nick Chubb is on the IR and Kareem Hunt is questionable due to a groin injury. Hunt was limited in practice so far this week. Next up in line would be D’Ernest Johnson at $4700. Against Dallas last week, Johnson rushed 13 times for 95 yards. Hunt’s status for this week’s game against Indianapolis will effect Johnson’s value and percentage of ownership. If Hunt plays Johnson won’t see as many touches. Where if he is out, Johnson could be highly owned, which is understandable considering the salary assigned to him. The Browns will also face a tough Colts run defense on Sunday.

DFS Value Plays: Wide Receivers

Robby Anderson, Car @ Atl; DK = $5900

Robby Anderson was 1 yard shy from getting the 100-yard bonus on Sunday, that would have been the third time in the first four weeks he would have gotten it. DJ Moore could be more highly owned then Anderson and is $100 more. However, Moore hasn’t been as productive as Anderson has so far this season as Anderson is averaging 19.7 points on compared to Moore averaging 12.5. Carolina plays Atlanta on Sunday who has the 22nd defense against wide receivers on DraftKings. Anderson has 28 receptions for 377 yards and 1 score to start the season.

Tim Patrick, Den @ NE; DK = $4400

This game could be in question as well, due to Stephon Gilmore testing positive for COVID-19. $4400 isn’t the lowest I could have gone here, however, I believe Tim Patrick would be started less than some of the other names a little further down and should give you an edge. Patrick seemed to have a connection with Brett Rypien in their Week 4 matchup. Patrick had 6 receptions for 113 yards and a score, which would have gotten you 26.3 points on DraftKings. In Week 3, after Sutton landed on the IR, Patrick had 4 catches for 43 yards and a score, still good for 14.3 points. Patrick has put together 2 solid weeks of production and will face a New England defense that will be without Gilmore.

DFS Value Plays: Tight End

Jonnu Smith, Buf @ Ten; DK = $4900

This is another game that could be moved and not happen this week as more players from the Titans have tested positive for COVID-19. However, Jonnu Smith is considered to be a DFS value play for me in Week 5. Corey Davis and Adam Humphries will both be out with COVID-19 and AJ Brown was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday and has played since Week 1. Leaving Smith as the only receiving option that Tannehill has played with consistently remaining. Smith has 13 receptions in 3 games for 181 yards and 3 scores. Buffalo is also 27th versus tight ends in 2020 on DraftKings and Smith could see plenty of targets.

Richard Rodgers, Phi @ Pit; $2500

Richard Rodgers is one of the lower priced tight end in the main slate. I have him as a value play for Week 5 because Dallas Goedert is on the IR and the Eagles run a lot of 2 tight end sets. During the Sunday night game against the 49ers Rodgers caught 3 of 4 targets for 35 yards. The Eagles have a lot of their wide receivers banged up and Rodgers could benefit from that. He could see more targets and possibly find the end zone against Pittsburgh.
