Best Undrafted Free Agent Landing Spots

Every season, some rookies see themselves falling out of the NFL Draft, thus becoming undrafted Free Agents. However, this is not the end of the World, because they can still be signed by teams and be part of OTAs and training camps.

In this article, RotoHeat will go over some of the best Undrafted Free Agents, that you can scoop up for your fantasy roster and stash for possible future success.

Sean Tucker, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Before the whole draft process, Sean Tucker was widely believed to be a top 5 RB prospect, but a heart condition that showed up during medical testing made him drop out of the draft entirely.

The talent and skill set are absolutely there for Sean Tucker, and despite Rachaad White looking like the unquestioned starter at RB for the Buccaneers, his draft stock is still only in the eighth round in dynasty startups, proving that the fantasy community is still not convinced he is the long-term answer at RB for the Bucs.

That could prove to be the opportunity that Tucker needs, which could lead to him winning more touches.

Keaton Mitchell, RB, Baltimore Ravens

If there is one thing we know about the Baltimore Ravens and their backfield, it is that they go through more running backs during a season than any other team in the NFL. Last season, JK Dobbins, Gus Edwards, Kenyan Drake, and Justice Hill all saw meaningful numbers of snaps.

Now, they have added to their backfield depth by signing Keaton Mitchell. Mitchell is a highly explosive running back, who could start the season on the Ravens’ taxi squad, and be called up when their other RBs almost inevitably suffer injuries. Stash him, and you might be able to reap the benefits down the line.

Tiyon Evans, RB, Los Angeles Rams

Evans is a very bursty RB with a great contact balance. Being an undrafted free agent, he obviously might not even make the Rams’ final roster, but Evans is built to be a between-the-tackles runner, something that the Rams might find that they need at some point during the season, because none of their current RBs are truly built for that, not even Cam Akers.

The RB situation behind Cam Akers is also why Evans could be intriguing for fantasy managers, as we have no idea who will end up on the depth chart as the #2 RB. We should know sometime during the offseason whether Evans has a shot at that role. If not, you can easily cut him from your fantasy roster without thinking twice.

Tanner Morgan, QB, Pittsburgh Steelers

Morgan ended up undrafted, which may or may not come as a surprise. He has all the physical attributes to be an NFL quarterback, but he needs to improve his intangibles, like decision-making, improvisation, and pocket awareness.

That being said, the only backup QB on the Steelers’ roster right now is Mitch Trubisky, who is a free agent after this season. This could pave the way for Morgan to be the backup from 2024 onwards, giving him some value in fantasy, if you scoop him up now and stash him on your taxi squad.

Rakim Jarrett, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Jarrett was a former five-star recruit but went undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft. He has since been signed by the Buccaneers, who is taking a shot on Jarrett.

With Chris Godwin having a massive cap hit in 2024, Mike Evans having an out in his contract after the 2023 season, and the Bucs generally looking like they will be a team in disarray in the near future, we might see an entirely new receiving core for this team going into 2024.

Jarrett might not be able to make the team at all, but of all the undrafted wide receivers, he is the most talented, which could warrant him a chance to make the team and thus fantasy rosters.
