2021 NFL Week 7 IDP Waiver Wire Adds

The bye weeks are coming in hot and heavy now! We have six teams on bye and the injuries keep mounting, so nearly every team is in need to waiver wire help.

Bye Week Teams: Buffalo Bills, Dallas Cowboys, Jacksonville Jaguars, Minnesota Vikings, Pittsburgh Steelers, Los Angeles Chargers

Remember to always check your lineups before games start for late-breaking injuries and unexpected starters, and you can find the RotoHeat IDP scoring here.

2021 NFL Week 7 IDP Waiver Wire Adds: Linebackers

2021 NFL Week 7 IDP Waiver Wire Adds: Linebackers – Kamu Grugier-Hill

David Long Jr, Linebacker, Tennessee Titans
Ownership: Sleeper 0%, Yahoo 4%

Be careful if you go to add him, as there is another David Long Jr that plays cornerback for the Rams. The linebacker David Long Jr took over in the middle in Week 2 for Tennessee and hasn’t turned back. In only four weeks he has 19 solos, 10 assists and 3 TFL and is a top 40 linebacker.

He does play Monday Night so we do not have his stats, but assuming he does not get hurt he is a priority waiver add this week. He does not have a bye week until Week 13, so he can help you through a lot of these byes.

Anthony Walker, Linebacker, Cleveland Browns
Ownership: Sleeper 2%, Yahoo 8%

Anthony had a great Week 1, was injured in practice and did not return until Week 5. He was working his way back in that game and ended with 2 solos and 4 assists with a 73% snap share. Week 6 he had a 79% snap share . On top of that, rookie linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah is undergoing an MRI on his ankle that he hurt in Week 6.

Walker is a veteran that can give you proven production. He will produce even with JOK on the field, but if JOK misses time look for Walker to be a weekly starter for IDP leagues. If he was dropped in your league due to the injury, he is a great add and does not have a bye week until Week 13.

Kamu Grugier-Hill, Linebacker, Houston Texans
Ownership: Sleeper 0%, Yahoo 1%

Kamu is on his fourth team since being a sixth round pick by the Patriots in 2016. He has an 89% snap share the past four weeks, including 100% the past two. Arizona is not a great match-up (they are in the bottom third in points allowed to opposing linebackers) but any middle linebacker getting close to 100% of the snaps on a defense on the field a lot is worth looking at.

Kamu is a top 30 linebacker over the past three weeks, and with how many IDP relevant players are on bye this week he is a nice plug and play waiver add with rest of the season potential. The Texans bye is Week 10.

2021 NFL Week 7 IDP Waiver Wire Adds: Defensive Backs

2021 NFL Week 7 IDP Waiver Wire Adds: Defensive Backs – Bryce Hall

Brandon Jones, Safety, Miami Dolphins
Ownership: Sleeper 0%, Yahoo 1%

Brandon Jones has been taking over the strong safety position from Eric Rowe the past two weeks. Atlanta is #12 in points allowed to opposing safetys and is playing most of his snap close to the line of scrimmage. Despite limited snaps before the past two weeks he is a top 30 safety this year and getting more snaps should only improve that. The Dolphins don’t have a bye until Week 14.

Kareem Jackson, Safety, Denver Broncos
Ownership: Sleeper 0%, Yahoo 2%

Jackson is the lesser known of the two safetys in Denver, with Justin Simmons being the main guy. Jackson however has had use this year as well though, he is safety 35 on the year so far and actually two spots ahead of Simmons. He has two weeks (Week 1 and Week 3) with just two combined tackles each; the other four weeks he has averaged 7 combined tackles. The Broncos play the Browns in Week 7 though and they give up the third most points to opposing safetys. He’s a good play this week and potentially going forward this year; he has a 96% snap share on the year and no bye until Week 11.

Bryce Hall, Cornerback, New York Jets
Ownership: Sleeper 0%, Yahoo 1%

In Week 2 against New England Bryce had 5 solos, 1 assist, and 1 TFL. He has a 98% snap share, was on bye this past week and the Patriots give up the most points to opposing cornerbacks. He is a top 13 cornerback this year, and aside from Week 1 he has at least 5 combined tackles. Fire him up this week when he plays New England again.

2021 NFL Week 7 IDP Waiver Wire Adds: Defensive Linemen

2021 NFL Week 7 IDP Waiver Wire Adds: Defensive Linemen – DJ Jones

Jonathan Greenard, Defensive End, Houston Texans
Ownership: Sleeper 0%, Yahoo 0%

Jonathan did not play in the first two weeks, but he has had over a 50% snap share in three of the four weeks he has played. He does have a dud no-stat game in Week 4 when he played only 25% of snaps (his lowest in any game he played).

He is a clear boom or bust play then, but in three games where he did anything he has 10 solos, 3 assists, 5 TFL, 1 forced fumble, and 4 sacks. Arizona plays Houston in Week 6 and is top 10 in terms of points allowed to opposing defensive ends. In a week with a lot of byes I like him this week, and he does not have a bye until Week 10.

Dexter Lawrence, Defensive End, New York Giants
Ownership: Sleeper 0%, Yahoo 1%

Leonard Williams is the bigger IDP name here but he is much more rostered. Dexter is having a good year in real life and is getting you some production each week in fantasy football; he has 10 solos, 10 assists, 2 TFL, 1 PD, and half a sack on the year. Week 7 brings the Panthers who give up the most points to opposing defensive ends. I am not expecting a huge game, but he is in a great position to be a spot starter for you this week for players on bye. The Giants have a Week 10 bye.

DJ Jones, Defensive Tackle, San Francisco 49ers
Ownership: Sleeper 0%, Yahoo 0%

The 49ers play the Colts on Monday Night and DJ Jones is virtually unrostered in leagues. The 49ers use a heavy rotation on their defensive line, and Jones has a less than ideal 47% snap share on the season.

That said the Colts give up the 10th most points to opposing defensive tackles. He has a big play stat (sack or TFL) in three of five games so far, and does get some tackles too; he has a 11 solos, 1 assist, 2 TFL, and 1 sack on the year. For a deep dive pick at DT this week, I like DJ Jones to get you great value for his cost.
