Fantasy Implications

There’s not much certainty at RB behind Austin Ekeler in the Chargers RB room which is great news for Rountree III. He’s not a great pass catcher, but he’s a no nonsense runner who can pick up chunk plays. He’s going to help take the pressure off Herbert in the backfield whether that’s in 2021 or in the future.

He’s got the upside to be a three down back in the NFL today, so he’ll be one of my top 12 handcuffs heading into 2021. He will produce if given the opportunity, it’s just if he can find his way to get those snaps. He’s someone I’ll be targeting in the 3rd round of Rookie Drafts.
