Winning Waiver Wire Tiers Entering Week 12

Winning Waiver Wire Tiers Entering Week 12

Each and every week in fantasy football there are surprise performances and there are injures. Both of these occurrences tend to lead to opportunity. Opportunity leads to touches, and touches tend to lead to fantasy points. Every week there is something to pay attention to in the NFL. At times it is injuries, others it’s bye weeks, and in 2021, the Covid-19 pandemic lingers and could possibly impact NFL teams and your fantasy rosters. All of these scenarios highlight the waiver wire and your need to pay attention to it.

Entering Week 12, the injuries continue to pile up and the player pool is getting smaller and smaller. In addition to navigating injuries, the bye weeks continue. The Arizona Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs are on bye this week, removing several key fantasy assets from your lineups.

Brad Menendez is joined by Rob Sullivan this week to break down the Winning Waiver Wire Tiers Entering Week 12.

Winning Waiver Wire Tiers Entering Week 12

Plan A is the cream of the crop off the weekly waiver wire. These are the players that you should prioritize adding to your fantasy rosters. These players most often can be added and inserted into your starting lineup.

Darnell Mooney
Rostered: ESPN – 53%, Yahoo – 52%, Sleeper 65%

Darnell Mooney caught 5-of-16 targets for 121 yards and a touchdown in the Bears’ Week 11 loss to the Ravens.

The 100-yard game was just the second of Mooney’s career, and the 16 targets were a career high. Mooney remains the Bears’ No.1 WR despite the QB. Justin Fields was injured and replaced by Andy Dalton and Mooney didn’t miss a beat. Darnell Mooney is a must add, entering a Thanksgiving Day matchup with Detroit.

Rashod Bateman – Baltimore Ravens
Rostered: ESPN – 46%, Yahoo – 56%, Sleeper 69%

Rashod Bateman caught 3-of-6 targets for 29 yards in the Ravens’ Week 11 win over the Bears.

This one was disappointing on many levels. With Marquise Brown being ruled out, the door was wide open for Bateman to step up. The only problem was Lamar Jackson was also ruled out. Lamar Jackson should be back Sunday against the Browns, but Brown’s status is less clear. If Brown is active in Week 12, I will likely have Bateman ranked in the 30s. If Brown misses this one, Bateman is a top-24 WR in my opinion. Regardless of this Week 12 ranking, Bateman should absolutely be rostered. will be a mid-range WR3.

Elijah Moore – New York Jets
Rostered: ESPN – 41%, Yahoo – 56%, Sleeper – 71%

Elijah Moore caught 8-of-11 targets for 141 yards and a touchdown, adding 15 yards rushing in the Jets’ Week 11 loss to the Dolphins.

For the second straight week, Moore finds himself in this op tier. Judging by his roster percentage, not enough of you took our advice. Moore ran a pass route on 81 percent of Joe Flacco’s Week 11 drop backs, and his 11 targets led the team. Elijah is starting to live up to his preseason hype. Since the Jets Week 6 bye, Elijah Moore is averaging 18.78 PPR points a game and is the WR8. Go get him now!

Devonta Freeman – Baltimore Ravens
Rostered: ESPN – 36%, Yahoo – 65%, Sleeper 62%

Devonta Freeman rushed 16 times for 49 yards and a touchdown in the Ravens’ Week 11 win over the Bears, adding six receptions for 31 additional yards.

Freeman is another player to make an appearance in this tier in back to back weeks. His 20 PPR points on Sunday, were a season high, and this week was the first time he has hit the 20 point plateau since Week 16 back in 2019. Adding a team’s top RB off waivers in Week 12 is not the norm. We once again recommend adding this Ravens RB.

Kadarius Toney – New York Giants
Rostered: ESPN – 43%, Yahoo – 52%, Sleeper – 64%

Kadarius Toney plays later this evening in New York when the Giants host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Kadarius Toney was absent from the Week 11 injury report all week and enters this one healthy.

Battling injury and poor play, Toney has been tough to roster and impossible to start since he popped off for 29.60 points in Week 5 versus Dallas. Since Week 5 he has a total of 15.7 points and he comes into tonight at WR109 during that stretch. The silver lining here is from Week 6-10 he only appeared in two games, and has a huge opportunity for targets and production tonight with Sterling Shepard remaining out of the lineup. The Giants schedule is good down the stretch, with two versus Philadelphia, Miami, the Chargers and Dallas. Toney can help solidify your playoff chances or help you get in. He should be rostered in all formats that award points for receptions.
