Ty’Son Williams Fantasy Outlook 2021

In this article, we are going to cover the Ty’Son Williams fantasy outlook for 2021. We will share where we think he will rank amongst all running backs in 2021. Should you buy, hold or sell? Will he be more or less valuable in 2022? Do we think he is going to be a league winner, weekly starter, flex play, spot starter, dark horse or dart throw? Included is all of this as well as personal opinions of the six people that participated from the RotoHeat staff.

Ty’Son Williams Fantasy Outlook 2021: What Is His Weekly Playability?

With JK Dobbins unfortunately out for the year with an ACL tear, Ravens second string running back Gus Edwards became the main guy for Baltimore. That left the back-up running back role up for grabs, and 2020 NFL Draft undrafted free agent Ty’Son Williams out of BYU appears to have taken over that role. So what does that mean for his 2021 weekly playability?

Half of us that discussed Ty’Son after the Dobbins injury feel that he is a darkhorse for weekly value. Gus Edwards had weeks where he was playable last year as Dobbins’ back-up once Mark Igram went out with injury, and we feel Ty’Son could have value in that same role.

Ty’Son Williams Fantasy Outlook 2021: More, Same or Less Valuable in 2022 Dynasty Offseason?

Ty’Son is currently Fantasy Pros PPR Draft Positional ADP RB 73 and is undrafted in RotoHeat Dynasty SF leagues. Half of us feel his value will be about that next offseason, while two of us felt it will be higher. Some of us feel he won’t end up doing much, while others think that the Ravens will add a veteran yet, and few just do not think Ty’Son is long for the NFL.

Even if he is on the team next year, it would be likely as no better than the third running back on the team, with a healthy Dobbins returning and Gus resuming his back-up running back role. As such, we do not see a lot of upward movement in terms of offseason value between now and this time next year for Ty’Son.

Ty’Son Williams Fantasy Outlook 2021: Buy, Sell or Hold?

Most of the team is taking Ty’Son’s newfound value as a chance to sell high on him. The Ravens love to run and there will be opportunities for him to get playing time (assuming he maintains the back-up running back job). With most of us not seeing him as a long-term piece and people always loving the shiny new player in the game, we would take the chance to sell. As one of our team members put it “There is no way that I would be holding Williams until opening day. People are already way too high on a guy that only has preseason hype.”

Ty’Son Williams Fantasy Outlook 2021: Where Will He Rank vs. All Running Backs?

Four of the six of us feel he will end up in the RB 32 – RB 36 range at the end of the year, with one a bit higher and one a bit lower on him. This does have him in the late RB 3 range, and as one of our team members said, Ty’Son has “jumped Justice Hill to be the RB2 in this backfield that loves to use multiple RBs. I expect Gus to have a higher workload than he otherwise would have and Lamar to run even more now. But the #2 RB (if he sticks there) in that offense will have value,”

Low: 49+

Ty’Son Williams Fantasy Outlook 2021: Conclusion

Most of us feel that Ty’Son Williams will have a role in the Ravens backfield this year, but it likely won’t be a large one. Given that his value is at an all-time high right now, and we do not see a lot of long-term value, we would look to sell him if you happened to already have him in a league. We are also not looking to run out and spend a lot of free agency dollars on him.
