Hello and welcome back! Week 5 is in the books, that means it is time for your Top 12 Wide Receiver Plays for Week 6. Week 5 brought us some injuries to overcome in JuJu Smith-Schuster and Kenny Golladay amongst others. Let’s take a look at some of the top wide receiver plays that will play in Week 6.
Top 12 Wide Receiver Plays for Week 6
Tyreek Hill, KC at WAS
Tyreek Hill and the Chiefs head to Washington for their Week 6 matchup. The Chiefs’ wide receiver will enter the contest with a questionable tag due to a quad injury. Through the first 5 weeks of the season, Hill has 37 receptions for 516 yards and 4 scores. The Washington secondary has given up the 9th most receptions with 126, the 7th most receiving yards with 1,507 and the 2nd most TDs with 14.
Davante Adams, GB at CHI
Davante Adams leads the NFL in receptions with 42 and receiving yards with 579. He also has 2 touchdown scores on the season. The Green Bay Packers will travel to Chicago to face the Bears on Sunday. The Bears’ secondary has allowed the 7th fewest receptions with 104, 12th fewest receiving yards with 1,279, and they are tied for the 15th most touchdowns allowed with 8.
Diontae Johnson, PIT vs SEA (SNF)
Diontae Johnson and the Steelers will host the Russell Wilson-less Seattle Seahawks on Sunday Night Football. The Steelers will be without JuJu Smith-Schuster in Week 5 and the rest of the season. Johnson, Chase Claypool and rookie running back Najee Harris could see more targets to overcome the injury. The Seattle secondary has allowed the 6th most receptions with 130, the 3rd most yards with 1,608 and are tied for the 13th most scores with 9. On the season, Johnson has 25 receptions for 305 yards and 3 scores.
Cooper Kupp, LAR at NYG
Cooper Kupp has at least 5 receptions in all 5 of his games this season and 92 or more yards in 4 of his 5 games. The Rams will head to the “Big Apple” to face the New York “Football” Giants for a Week 6 matchup. The Giants defense has allowed the 5th most receptions with 131, the 11th most receiving yards with 1,402, and are tied for the 7th most touchdowns with 10. Cooper Kupp has 37 receptions for 523 yards and 5 touchdowns receiving.
Mike Williams, LAC at BAL
The NFL league leader in touchdown receptions is Mike Williams with 6. Williams and the Chargers will travel to Baltimore to face the Ravens on Sunday. The Ravens defense is tied for 10th most in receptions allowed with 124, 4th most receiving yards with 1,575 and are tied for 15th most touchdowns given up with 8. Williams has 31 catches for 471 to go along with his 6 touchdowns.
Terry McLaurin, WAS vs KC
Terry McLaurin and the Washington Football Team will host the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. The Chiefs have allowed the 15th fewest receptions with 112, the 5th most receiving yards with 1,543 and are tied for the 7th most touchdowns given up with 10. Terry McLaurin has 2 games where he has caught 6 passes or more and at least 107 yards receiving. Washington won both those games, and they lost when he didn’t score or put up those numbers.
Stefon Diggs, BUF at TEN (MNF)
Stefon Diggs and the Buffalo Bills will head to the Tennessee to face the Titans on Monday Night Football. Stefon Diggs has had at least 60 yards receiving in each game. The unfortunate thing for fantasy managers is that he has only one touchdown so far this season. The Titans have given up the 8th most receptions with 106 catches, the 12th most receiving yards with 1,396, and are tied with the 13th most touchdowns given up with 9.
Justin Jefferson, MIN at CAR
Minnesota Vikings’ wide receiver Justin Jefferson has 33 receptions for 462 yards and 3 touchdowns so far in the 2021 season. Jefferson and the Vikings will head to Carolina to face one of the toughest defenses in the NFL. The Panthers have given up the fewest receptions with 86, yards with 923 and are tied for the 10th fewest touchdowns given up with 7. Jefferson could be targeted often, especially if Cook is out again.
Brandin Cooks, HOU at IND
Brandin Cooks is on his on his fourth team in 6 years. This season, his quarterbacks have been Tyrod Taylor and Davis Mills. Cooks has caught 31 passes for 192 yards and 1 score this season. The Texans will travel to Indianapolis to face the Colts on Sunday for a Week 6 matchup. The Colts secondary has given up the most touchdowns with 15. They have also surrendered 112 receptions, which is tied for 18th most and 1,370 yards, which is tied for 13th most. The Colts’ cornerbacks were banged up in Week 5.
Michael Pittman, IND vs HOU
Michael Pittman has one touchdown, 29 catches and 368 receiving yards in the 2021 season. Pittman has at least 6 receptions and 59 yards in every game since Week 2. Pittman and the Colts will host the Houston Texans for a Week 6 matchup. The Texans are tied for the 16th most receptions with 114, allowed the 15th fewest yards with 1,336 and are tied for the 10 fewest touchdowns with 7.
DeVonta Smith, PHI vs TB (TNF)
The Thursday night game will feature the Tampa Bay Buccaneers visiting the Philadelphis Eagles to kick off Week 6. The Bucs have given up the most receptions with 164 and receiving yards with 1,641. They also have allowed the 3rd most touchdowns with 3 in 5 weeks. Over the last 2 games, Smith has caught 14 passes for 199 yards and 1 score, while being targeted 19 times.
Darnell Mooney, CHI vs GB
In 2 games against the Packers, Mooney has averaged 7 receptions for 63.5 yards. This season, Mooney has 3 games where he has caught at least 5 receptions and only one game where he surpassed 100 yards. He has 20 receptions for 261 yards. Green Bay’s secondary hasn’t been terrible this season, as they have given up the 12th most catches (118), the 9th fewest yards (1,167), but they are tied for the 4th most touchdowns given up with 12. Hopefully, he can build some chemistry with rookie quarterback Justin Fields for their Week 6 matchup as they might need to throw more with running back David Montgomery out.
