Top 12 Tight End Plays for Week 6

We have reached the sixth week of the NFL season, making it time for your weekly Top 12 for tight ends. The most important things for TEs are targets and TDs, so these are the two parameters I will look at the most, together with the matchup. Here are your Top 12 Tight End Plays for Week 6.

1. Travis Kelce, KC vs. WFT

Very few things in life are guaranteed. Death, taxes, and Travis Kelce as your weekly TE1 are!

2. Darren Waller, LV vs. Broncos

Waller remains the target leader among tight ends with now 48 targets. He has not had fewer than 7 targets in any week so far, making him one of the best tight end plays on a weekly basis.

3. Mark Andrews, BAL vs. Chargers

Andrews finally erupted in Week 5, both with targets and fantasy points. You have to expect Lamar Jackson to continue this trend of throwing it to Andrews now that he has shown his immense talent and production.

4. T.J. Hockenson, DET vs. Bengals

Hock has slipped over the past few weeks, but it’s still tough to put him outside the top 4 at a position that is still mainly volume-based when it comes to predicting fantasy scores. Hockenson is sixth in targets in the NFL right now, and as such is a must-start at the TE position.

5. Dawson Knox, BUF vs. Titans

Boy has Dawson Knox blasted onto the scene of fantasy football. For years he was a low-end TE2, but now Josh Allen has finally started looking his way more when big plays are needed. Knox is not a massive volume guy, but his TD upside is high in a high-powered offense. You cannot ask for much more.

6. Dalton Schultz, DAL vs. Patriots

Schultz has had 7, 8, and 8 targets over the past 3 weeks and has pushed Blake Jarwin mostly into the void when it comes to snaps and targets at the tight end position in Dallas. This is good news for fantasy owners because it makes Schultz a top 6 TE play every week due to volume and TD upside in one of the highest-scoring offenses in the league.

7. Mike Gesicki, MIA vs. Jaguars

Gesicki has had quite a high number of targets ever since Week 2, and that is great for fantasy, especially when you play in PPR leagues. There is a big “but” though. Tua Tagovailoa could be back this week, and he has been less inclined to target Gesicki than Jacoby Brissett.

That being said, it would be strange if Tua didn’t give Gesicki a good number of targets seeing how the Dolphins seem to have a lot of injuries in their pass-catching group.

8. Noah Fant, DEN vs. Raiders

Fant has been up and down like a lot of TEs usually are for fantasy. However, he still does average 6.2 targets per game, making him one of the more solid choices at TE on a weekly basis.

The Raiders have given up the fifth-most points to opposing TEs, so fire up Fant.

9. Tyler Higbee, LAR vs. Giants

With some good tight ends on bye this week (Kittle and Pitts), other tight ends are moving up the ranks for Top 12 Tight End Plays for Week 6, and Higbee is one of those. Higbee is inconsistent when it comes to targets, but is in a high-powered offense, making him a good bet to catch a TD.

10. Jared Cook, LAC vs. Ravens

Speaking of tight ends in high-powered offenses, Jared Cook is equally a part of one. The Chargers have been scoring a ton of points recently. Unfortunately for Cook owners, some of those scores have gone to Donald Parham.

However, that should not discourage anyone from starting Cook who could very well find the endzone.

11. Hunter Henry, NE vs. Cowboys

Henry has slowly crept his way up the TE rankings and now he is in the Top 12 Tight End Plays for Week 6. The Patriots seem to have made a strong effort to get their two tight ends more involved, and specifically for Henry, that has paid off well. For the past 3 weeks, Henry has scored 8.6, 13.2, and 19.5 fantasy points.

Dallas is a middle-of-the-road match-up on paper, and Henry should be at least a borderline TE1.

12. Dan Arnold, JAC vs. Dolphins

Dan Arnold makes his first appearance on the weekly TE Top 12 at the #12 spot for Top 12 Tight End Plays for Week 6. He’s had two games for the Jags now, and he is averaging 5 targets and 7.65 fantasy points, which is decent at TE. He even would have had more had he not lost a fumble.

With bye weeks happening now, this is likely the amount of fantasy points we should expect from a low-end TE1.
