Let’s check out the Top 12 Running Back Plays for Week 5!

Top 12 Running Back Plays for Week 5

Dalvin Cook, MIN vs DET

Top 12 Running Back Plays for Week 5 4

Dalvin Cook was on a limited snap count in Week 4 against the Browns. With a full week of practice, his reps should go up. The Minnesota Vikings face off against the Detroit Lions on Sunday. The Vikings are going to need Cook to help them get back to winning. In 6 games against the Lions in his career, Cook has averaged 106.3 yards rushing and 1 touchdown a game.

Derrick Henry, TEN at JAX

Derrick Henry is coming off his third 100-yard game in a row in a losing effort versus the Jets. Henry is the league leader in rushing yards with 510 and has 113 rushing attempts through the first 4 weeks of the season. The Titans might rely on Henry a little more if Julio Jones and AJ Brown aren’t able to suit up again. Henry averages 101.3 yards and 1.1 touchdowns a game against the Jaguars.

Nick Chubb, CLE at LAC

The Cleveland Browns have 2 solid running backs in Kareem Hunt and Nick Chubb. Chubb is more of the lead back and gets a few more carries a game. The Browns tend to rely on Chubb and Hunt to take pressure off of Baker Mayfield. Chubb has 362 rushing yards and 3 scores through the first 4 weeks of the season.

Aaron Jones, GB at CIN

Aaron Jones has a league-leading 5 total touchdowns through the first 4 weeks of the season. Jones has rushed for 2 scores and 206 yards, and he has also caught 13 passes for 126 yards and 3 more scores. The Green Bay offense has started to get going since their Week 1 game against New Orleans. Cincinnati gave up 2 scores to James Robinson in Week 4, so Aaron Jones should see a decent amount of action in Week 5.

Joe Mixon, CIN vs GB

Joe Mixon has rushed for just 2 scores and 353 yards through the first 4 weeks of the season. Mixon can catch the ball out of the field, even though the Bengals haven’t really used him for that so far on this young season. Joe Mixon was banged up towards the end of the Thursday Night game against the Jaguars and is questionable as of Wednesday. If he suits up, he could see a decent amount of action against this Packers defense.

James Robinson, JAX vs TEN

James Robinson has 238 rushing yards and 3 scores to start the season. He also has 13 receptions for 90 yards. Carlos Hyde missed the Thursday Night game versus the Bengals, leaving Robinson to get the bulk of the carries. If Hyde is out for the Week 5 matchup against the Titans, Robinson could see another spike in snaps. The Titans’ defense is worse against the pass than the run, but the Jags will need to establish the run to take pressure off of rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

Alvin Kamara, NO at WAS

The Saints’ offense is still trying to find their groove since Drew Brees retired. Alvin Kamara has rushed for 297 yards and 0 touchdowns. He has at least 20 rushing attempts and 83 yards in 3 of the first 4 games. He has also caught 10 passes for 62 yards and 2 more scores. New Orleans is facing off against the Washington Football Team in Week 5. Washington has a decent run defense, but Kamara can get involved in the passing game to help you win your matchup.

Saquon Barkley, NYG at DAL

Saquon Barkley started the season on a snap count. He played just 48% of the snaps in Week 1, then increased to 84%, 86% to 89% in the overtime victory against New Orleans. He has 186 rushing yards and 2 scores on the season to go with 14 receptions for 130 yards and a score. Dallas is good against opposing running backs, but Barkley has also caught 11 passes over the last 2 weeks for 117 yards and a touchdown. Barkley has averaged 71.3 yards for 0.3 scores over the 4 times that he has played the Cowboys.

Najee Harris, PIT vs DEN

The Pittsburgh Steelers will host the Denver Broncos on Sunday for their Week 5 matchup. The Broncos have one of the better defenses fantasy-wise against opposing running backs. Through the first four weeks of the season, Harris has 185 yards rushing and 1 touchdown. He also has 26 receptions for 178 yards and another score. He has caught 20 passes over the last 2 weeks. The Steelers offense will look to feature Harris again this week to help get the offense going.

Chase Edmonds, ARI vs SF

James Conner and Chase Edmonds comprise the Arizona Cardinals backfield. Edmonds doesn’t have a touchdown yet, but he has 255 rushing yards with 20 receptions and 140 yards receiving. Conner has 4 touchdowns, but he has 178 yards rushing with 3 receptions for 26 yards. The opportunity is there for Edmunds, as he playing more snaps than Conner, has more receptions and rushing yards. The Cardinals will host the 49ers on Sunday.

Kenneth Gainwell, PHI at CAR

Miles Sanders is the lead back in Philadelphia as he plays 64% of the snaps that the Eagles play. While Gainwell plays 35%, he has 84 yards rushing with 2 scores on the season, and he also added 13 receptions for 144 yards. Carolina has a good defense against fantasy running backs. Where Gainwell can produce is if the Eagles fall behind early as he could see more targets in the passing game.

Zack Moss, Buff at KC (SNF)

The Buffalo Bills head to Kansas City to face the Chiefs in a Week 5 Sunday Night Football matchup. Moss has 147 yards and 3 scores through 3 games, he also has added 5 receptions for 39 yards and 1 score. The Chiefs have struggled on defense lately, including against running backs. The last 2 weeks Moss has played 56% of the offensive snaps for Buffalo. Look for Moss to keep producing to help Buffalo to stay in this game.
