Three Kickers to Stream Week 4

Welcome back to our Three Kickers to Stream article series for Week 4 of the 2021 season! For those who are unaware, “stream” or “streaming” refers to starting a player in lieu of a regular starter on your fantasy football squad. Usually this is needed by having no other option, whereas one of your players are hurt or on bye. However, sometimes you can may choose to stream a kicker as a general season-long strategy, or if the matchup/situation is better than your regular starter.

Before I get any further, I must say… KICKERS ARE IMPORTANT! Yes, they can be fluky at times. Yes, they typically score about the same amount of points at the end of the season. However, there are some factors that should be looked at on a week to week basis on which kickers to start any given week for your fantasy team. For example, is the game being played in favorable weather, or better yet, in a dome? Is the game going to be high scoring? Does the team typically go for it on 4th down or do they have a more conservative approach? All of these factors should be considered when choosing your weekly kicker.

Each week I will be bringing you the top three kickers to stream in your leagues. The goal of my streams is to identify a positive situation in the current week to help you get that all important “W.”

1. Brandon McManus – Denver Broncos

A look at Three Kickers to Stream Week 4

First up for our Week 4 streams is Brandon McManus of the Denver Broncos. McManus hit all four field goals in Week 3, and he also made two additional extra points. He was a perfect 6/6 on the day which added to the 26-0 shutout victory against the NY Jets.

This week, the Broncos host the Baltimore Ravens in what should be an uphill battle for Bridgewater and Co. However, I expect the Broncos to be able to move the ball well enough to offer many FG opportunities for McManus.

In the following week, the Broncos face off against the Pittsburg Steelers which likely will not be the best matchup to stream up against given their tough defense overall. Brandon McManus can be trusted this week, but I would look to stream someone else the following week.

2. Rodrigo Blankenship – Indianapolis Colts

The next kicker stream for Week 4 is Rodrigo Blankenship of the Indianapolis Colts. Blankenship had a good game in week 3, hitting 3/4 FGs and making an extra point. He did miss one FG, although it was from 50+ out.

This week, the Colts will face off against the Miami Dolphins who have not been as good on defense as most people expected. The game should be very competitive and Blankenship should have plenty of opportunities to score. This is why Rodrigo Blankenship is a solid option for kicker streams in Week 4.

3. Chase McLaughlin – Cleveland Browns

A look at Three Kickers to Stream Week 4

The last kicker stream for Week 4 is Chase McLaughlin of the Cleveland Browns. In Week 3, McLaughlin was perfect on field goals, converting all 4 field goals attempted against the Chicago Bears. McLaughlin also made some recent history for the Browns. He is the first Browns kicker since Phil Dawson in 2012 to make two FGs of 50+ yards in a single game!

McLaughlin will look to take this momentum forward in Week 4 when he and the Browns face off against the Minnesota Vikings. This game will be in a dome so that is always a positive for the kicking game knowing that one will not have to face the elements. I expect a high scoring game with plenty of scoring opportunities.
