Three Kickers to Stream Week 15
Welcome back to our Three Kickers to Stream article series for Week 15 of the 2021 season! For those who are unaware, “stream” or “streaming” refers to starting a player in lieu of a regular starter on your fantasy football squad. Usually this is needed by having no other option, whereas one of your players are hurt or on bye. However, sometimes you can may choose to stream a kicker as a general season-long strategy, or if the matchup/situation is better than your regular starter.
Before I get any further, I must say… KICKERS ARE IMPORTANT! Yes, they can be fluky at times. Yes, they typically score about the same amount of points at the end of the season. However, there are some factors that should be looked at on a week to week basis on which kickers to start any given week for your fantasy team. For example, is the game being played in favorable weather, or better yet, in a dome? Is the game going to be high scoring? Does the team typically go for it on 4th down or do they have a more conservative approach? All of these factors should be considered when choosing your weekly kicker.
Each week I will be bringing you the top three kickers to stream in your leagues. The goal of my streams is to identify a positive situation in the current week to help you get that all important “W.”
1. Dustin Hopkins – Los Angeles Chargers
Congratulations on making it to the fantasy playoffs! I cannot imagine you would be reading a KICKER STREAM article if that’s not the case. Otherwise, I recommend seeking some sort of counseling. Seriously – get some help.
To kick things off this week, Dustin Hopkins of the LA Chargers is a superb kicking option if you’re in need of a new “leg.” Last week against the NY Giants, Hopkins was perfect on the day connecting on all three field goals and all four extra points. This week, Dustin Hopkins and the rest of the Bolts host the KC Chiefs indoors at SoFi stadium. In what should be a very high scoring game, Hopkins is one of the best options for kicker streams this week. Add him now and cruise to victory in Week 15 of the fantasy playoffs!
2. Jason Sanders – Miami Dolphins
The next kicker stream for Week 15 is Jason Sanders of the Miami Dolphins. Sanders has had an up and down season, but he has a favorable game this week and also will be kicking far away from scary winter conditions since the game will be played in Miami.
The Miami Dolphins host the New York Jets this week, and the Jets are one of, if not the easiest, teams offenses can score against. Tua Tagovailoa and the ‘Phins should have no issue putting the ball in scoring position. I expect Sanders to put on a kicking clinic this week. While the aforementioned Hopkins is preferred, Sanders still offers some very nice upside himself in the first week of the fantasy playoffs.
3. Younghoe Koo – Atlanta Falcons
Younghoe Koo finishes our recommended kicker stream article for Week 15. While the two former kicker streams are preferred, I do believe Koo is in a very nice spot to deliver for fantasy teams this week. Just this past weekend, Koo was perfect on the day kicking for the Falcons against the Panthers. He made all three of his FG attempts, as well as connecting on both of his extra point kicks.
The Falcons will be playing in San Francisco in Week 15 which generally has good kicking conditions even in mid-December. The Falcons should be able to move the ball effectively against an overrated SF defensive unit. Again, I recommend Hopkins and Sanders over Koo, but Younghoe Koo offers some decent upside as well. If the other two options are unavailable, I believe Koo can deliver for your fantasy team this week. Good luck in your fantasy playoffs!
