Three DSTs to Stream Week 2

Streaming is a fantasy football strategy that fantasy managers use when they don’t have starters on their rosters that they trust entering any particular week during the fantasy season.

When it comes to DSTs, streaming is actually a fair bit better than starting the same DST almost every week. The top scoring DST of 2020, the LA Rams, scored 151 points. The 5th best option at DST each week (likely streaming candidates) scored 196 points. As you can see, DSTs are not about averaging the highest fantasy points per game, but it’s about hitting spike weeks from DSTs with good matchups.

Streaming DSTs is the way, and RotoHeat is here to tell you what DSTs to target every week of the 2021 NFL Fantasy Football season. These are the three DSTs to Stream Week 2.

3. Cleveland Browns DST (vs. Texans)

It’s early days, and the Texans’ offense looked decent against the Jaguars, but…it was the Jaguars. Until we have more evidence to the contrary, I think we can safely say that you should start almost any DST, except the Jaguars, against the Texans. Myles Garrett and co. should have a field day against one of the worst O-lines in the league and should be able to force turnovers.

2. New Orleans Saints DST (vs. Panthers)

Boy, did the Saints DST look good in Week 1 against Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. The front-end got pressure in Rodgers’ face and the back-end shored up most of the receivers on almost every play. If they can do this to Rodgers, imagine what they might be able to do to Mr. Sam “seeing ghosts” Darnold.

Turnovers and sacks are almost a guarantee.

1. Green Bay Packers DST (vs. Lions)

The Packers’ defense has a pretty good matchup against the Lions and could be one of the better DST plays of the week in Week 2. The Packers have a pretty good pass rush and a good secondary against Jared Goff, who tends to turn the ball over. It was obvious the Packers’ D-line got manhandled by the Saint’s O-line, but chances are this will be different against the Lions.

Last year, good matchups didn’t always translate to good fantasy performances for the GB DST, but I’m willing to bet that we see a similar performance to when they met the Lions in Week 2 of last season, where the Packers DST scored 15 points.
