Start or Sit These IDP Players on Monday Night to Win Week 12 Fantasy
Monday, Monday, gotta get down for Monday! Bottom of the division Seattle (3-7) takes on the near the botom of the division Washington (4-6). Clearly both teams have have not had the season they are hoping for, but even on teams not performing well we can find fantasy value.
The fantasy football playoffs are quickly approaching and we want to help you find players to get get that final push there, so let’s dive in and see what Monday night has in store!
Start or Sit These IDP Players on Monday Night to Win Week 12 Fantasy: Interior Defensive Linemen
Poona Ford & Al Woods – Seattle – Sit
Ford (65%) and Woods (53%) are the highest snap share defensive tackles for Seattle this year, and are close in tackles; Ford has 27 and Woods has 28 combined. The matchup is poor this week, as Washington is 30th in points to opposing defensive tackles. Neither is much of a weekly start, and this matchup is not one to start them in.
Daron Payne and Jonathan Allen – Washington – Start
A decent matchup, Seattle is 13th in points to opposing defensive tackles. Both players are high end defensive tackles, and Allen is the #7 IL (interior linemen) on the year, while Payne is the #29 IL. Allen is clearly the better start and a clear start here, but Payne is a fine start too if you need to take a shot on an IL who is likely on waivers .
Start or Sit These IDP Players on Monday Night to Win Week 12 Fantasy: Edge
Corey Toohill & James Smith-Williams – Washington – Sit
Toohill (84%) and Smith-Williams (86%) both played a lot last week against Carolina with Chase Young and Montez Sweat out, but neither did much. Toohill had 1 solo and 1 assist, while Smith-Williams had 1 solos, 5 assists, 1 TFL, and haf a sack. Carolina was a better matchup (most points allowed to opposing defensive ends) than Seattle (13th in points allowed to opposing defensive ends), so I say I am expecting much this week. If you have to start one, start Smith-Williams as he has shown more year to date, and recently.
Kerry Hyder & Rasheem Green – Seattle – Unexciting Starts
Green is the better play, as he has better stats on more consistent playing time. On the year Green has a 63% snap share with 18 solos, 12 assists, 4 PD, 3 TFL and 3 sacks. Hyder has a 47% snap share in the same number of games, and 12 solos, 10 assists, 2 TFL, 2 fumble recoveries, and half a sack. Both are ok starts if you need to start anyone in this game (Washington gives up the 10th most points to opposing defensive ends), but hopefully you have better options or can find better options on the wire. Neither are exciting starts for the week.
Carlos Dunlap, Darrell Taylor & Benson Mayowa – Seattle – Sit
Dunlap (43% snap share, 18 combined tackles, 4 PD, and half a sack), Taylor (37% snap share, 17 combined tackles, 4 sacks, 3 TFL, and 1 forced fumble) and Mayowa (40% snap share, 19 combined tackles, 2 TFL, and 1 sack) are all on the lower end of the rotations here. He could hit gold starting one, but I would take my chances elsewhere. This rotation as you can tell is a mess.
Start or Sit These IDP Players on Monday Night to Win Week 12 Fantasy: Linebackers
Cole Holcomb – Washington – Start
Seattle is 7th in points allowed to opposing linebackers, and Cole is our LB #19 on the year. He has 100% of the defensive snaps in all but one week that he played this year (Week 4). Start him with confidence.
Jamin Davis – Washington – Sit
Despite the plus matchup, Jamin is not getting enough playing time, or production with that playing time, to want to start him at this time. He has a 70% snap share from Week 6 on, but only 16 solos and 11 assists in those five games (Week 10 was their bye). You can’t start him with any confidence at this point.
Jordyn Brooks & Bobby Wagner – Seattle – Start
Brooks (80% snap share) is our LB #12 on the year and Wagner (100% snap share) is our LB #13 on the year. Washington is 6th in points allowed to opposing linebackers. Both are great starts.
Start or Sit These IDP Players on Monday Night to Win Week 12 Fantasy: Defensive Backs
Cornerbacks – Washington – Sit
Seattle is 30th in points allowed to opposing cornerbacks, and neither Kendall Fuller or William Jackson III are doing much this year unless it is a plus matchup, despite playing nearly 100% of the snaps in games they start. You can find better waiver wire options available in your league. Fuller is the clear play over Jackson if forced to start one though.
Cornerbacks – Seattle – Sit
Washington is a poor matchup for opposing cornerbacks too, as they only allow the 25th most points to opposing teams’ this season. DJ Reed is a game time decision with groin and knee injuries. Blessuan Austin will likely start if Reed cannot go. Sidney Jones is the other start and the most reliable this year of the three, but none of them are great plays. Sidney is your start if you have to have one.
Jamal Adams – Seattle – Start
He is a game time decision with a groin injury, but if he plays you will want to start him. Start your studs as they saying goes, and Adams is a top 10 safety this year.
Quandre Diggs – Seattle – Start
Washington is 6th in points allowed to opposing safetys and Diggs has nearly a 100% snap share on the year. Diggs is our safety #23 on the year and a worthy start this week, like most weeks this year.
Kamren Curl, Landon Collins & Bobby McCain – Washington – Sit
Seattle is 27th in points allowed to opposing safetys and Washington has used three of them for a majoirty of their defensive snaps this year. Curl, Collins and McCain would be my preferred order this week if you need to start one of them. Curl is being utilized all over the field as of late and Collins has been performing better than McCain for three of the past four weeks. I don’t expect any of them to have a huge game though.
