High School

Najee Harris played his high school football at Antioch High School in Antioch, California. In his 41 games at Antioch, Harris ran for 7,948 yards and scored 94 touchdowns. Harris received offers from multiple top football programs including Alabama Crimson Tide, Michigan Wolverines, Ohio State Buckeyes, USC Trojans, and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide in 2015.

Najee Harris entered the Alabama program playing behind Josh Jacobs and Damien Harris in his Freshman and Sophomore seasons. In his Junior season with Damien Harris and Jacobs off to the NFL, Harris became the starting running back, finishing with 1,224 yards and 13 touchdowns. Despite speculation that he would declare for the 2020 NFL Draft, Harris announced that he would return to Alabama for his senior year.

While many questioned his decision to return to school, Alabama went on to win the National Championship. Harris had a big hand in helping them get there. Najee Harris rushed 251 times for 1,466 yards and 26 scores in his final season at Alabama. He also added 43 receptions for 425 yards and 4 scores in the passing game.

It should come as no surprise to most football fans that the staff at believes Najee Harris should adapt nicely to the NFL level. He should be a top running back drafted in the NFL Draft, if not the top back overall. Najee Harris is 6’2″ and weighs in at 230 pounds, and his frame and athletic ability make him hard to bring down.

Harris was a do-it-all running back while at Alabama, and defenses had few answers for him. He was able to run over defenders, block in pass protection, and has a nice burst of speed. He should be able to play all 3 downs on the NFL level and be a nice check down option for his new quarterback.
