The Super Bowl is over and it is draft season here at RotoHeat! You want information right now and I’m here to help you choose your Devy TE’s with My Bold Top 10 DEVY Tight Ends for 2021. The order could change a little bit, but as of now, this is where they land. So, let’s get to it…
#1 of My Bold Top 10 Devy Tight Ends for 2021
1)Michael Mayer – 6’ 5” 235 lbs – Notre Dame
Mayer was a true freshman that produced right away for a big program with 42 catches for 450 yards and 2 TDs. One of his biggest games was against #1 at the time, Clemson, with 5 catches for 67 yards. “Baby Gronk” also had his best game in the National Playoff Semi Final against Alabama with 7 catches for 62 yards. He loves and performs on the big stage. If you take a look at any of Michael’s highlights, you will see one of the smoothest running big guys ever, and you won’t be able to quit watching him.

2)Jahleel Billingsley – 6’ 4” 230 lbs – Alabama
This upcoming junior has a great opportunity since all 4 of their NFL Draft 1st round wide receivers are now gone. He was just scratching the surface as a sophomore with 18 catches for 287 yards and 3 TDs. Not only is he a mismatch against almost any linebacker, but he has great hands and can get you the all important YAC (yards after catch). He has a great chance to be the #1 tight end selected in the draft in 2022 if he declares.
#3 on My Bold Top 10 Devy Tight Ends for 2021
3)Jalen Wydermyer – 6’ 5” 265 lbs – Texas A&M
Jalen had a very productive first two years as a freshman and sophomore. To be exact, he had 78 catches for 953 yards and 12 TDs. His sophomore year had a few more catches, but both years were pretty comparable. His junior year looks to be special. He will continue to beat everyone that tries to cover him and catch all contested catches for those few that can stay with him. He is eligible for the ’22 NFL Draft.
#4 on My Bold Top 10 Devy Tight Ends for 2021
4)Arik Gilbert – 6’ 5” 249 lbs – Florida
After completing his true Freshman season with LSU, Arik is stepping in for the most anticipated TE in a long time. Arik is transferring to Florida. What did his 3rd game bring? 6 catches for 97 yards and a TD against Missouri. In total, his true freshman year brought very nice stats of 35 catches for 368 yards and 2 TDs. Expect him to be a top 2nd round NFL Draft prospect in 2023.
#5 on My Bold Top 10 Devy Tight Ends for 2021
5)Baylor Cupp – 6’ 6” 240 lbs – Texas A&M
Baylor did not see the field as a true freshman, although was the #1 ranked high school tight end recruit. Why? Because he was clocked at 4.59 in the 40 and has a 37 inch vertical. He knows how to block and seems to like it. In one play in high school, he blocked a player in the backfield and then catches up and passes the running back to make another block 25 yards down the field. He will be a monster starting this year and will be NFL Draft eligible in 2023.
#6 on My Top 10 Devy Tight Ends for 2021
6)Hudson Henry – 6’ 5” 249 lbs – Arkansas
Henry does not have much production yet in his freshman and redshirt freshman years. With just 18 catches for 109 yards and 1 TD, I do expect that Hunter Henry’s little brother will leave a very good mark as a junior. He doesn’t mind blocking and knows how to seal the edge. That will keep him on the field. Has great hands and does not go down easily and is a fun guy to watch. He is NFL Draft eligible in 2022.
#7 on My Top 10 Devy Tight Ends for 2021
7)Charlie Kolar – 6’ 6” 252 lbs – Iowa State
Charlie is a big, athletic guy that also decided to return for his senior year. After getting his feet wet as a freshman, Charlie was very productive and important in the turn around of Iowa State Football. In 2020, Iowa State had a 9-3 record which was their best record since 2000, and Charlie played a key part in that. Over the last 2 years, Charlie has had a combined 95 catches for 1,288 yards and 14 TDs. His senior year will push him even higher in the 2022 NFL Draft.
#8 on My Bold Top 10 Devy Tight Ends for 2021
8)Trey McBride – 6’ 4” 260 lbs – Colorado State
After sitting his freshman year, Trey was a solid contributor for both his sophomore and junior seasons. As a sophomore, he had 45 catches for 560 yards and 4 TDs. His junior year was impacted heavily by COVID-19, but still played 4 games and had 22 catches for 330 yards and 4 TDs. Trey decided to return for his senior year and will be a leader for his team. Trey is not an incredible athlete, but will get the job done with very good hands and does not go down on first contact.
#9 on My Bold Top 10 Devy Tight Ends for 2021
9)Jake Ferguson – 6’ 5” 246 lbs – Wisconsin
Jake has decided to return for his senior year in 2021. He has had 3 straight productive years in a row, but the short COVID year left a sour taste. He was establishing a very nice connection with QB-Graham Mertz. His freshman and sophomore year were nearly identical with a combined 69 catches for 863 yards and 6 TDs. As a junior in half the games, he had 30 catches for 305 yards and 4 TDs. He will play productive NFL Football.
#10 on My Bold Top 10 Devy Tight Ends of 2021
10)Jeremy Ruckert – 6’ 5” 250 lbs – Ohio State
Ruckert has played 3 years now and has decided to return for his senior year. This is not a bad choice, as he is really known more for his blocking than catching. He has good hands and shows that in the film, but he just doesn’t have the opportunities because of the supreme talent out wide. Jeremy only played 1 game as a freshman, but his sophomore and junior seasons combined delivered a modest 27 catches for 293 yards and an astounding 9 TDs.
