Jahmyr Gibbs – Georgia Tech : 5’ 11” at 200 lbs.

Turn on the tape of his Freshman Year and just watch him glide. He looks so smooth and quick. His first touch of the football in a Yellow Jackets’ game ended up being a 75 yard kickoff return. He had 219 all-purpose yards while scoring 2 touchdowns in that game, which got him ACC Freshman of the Week. In his 10 game Freshman season, he had 89 carries for 460 yards (5.17 yards per carry), 24 receptions for 303 yards (12.63 yards per catch), and 7 total touchdowns. I’ll be happy to have him sit on my bench for a couple years before unleashing him on my opponents in 2023.

Tank Bigsby – Auburn : 6’ 0” 204 lbs.

Watch his highlights and you will notice one thing very quickly–he is a North and South runner with very little wasted moves. He will lower his shoulder and run you over one time, and then the next time he will just side step and have you whiff. In 10 games, he had 138 carries for 834 yards (6.04 yards per carry) and 5 touchdowns. Where he will improve is in receptions, where he had 11 catches for 84 yards. This is the second true freshman on my list that I would be more than happy to wait until 2023 to put him in my starting lineup. I put him as my #2 in the top 10 DEVY running backs in 2021.

Bijan Robinson – Texas : 6’ 0” 222 lbs.

He is so fun to watch as he plants his foot for the one cut and go. The third true freshman on my list is another very special running back. In 9 games, he had 86 carries for 703 yards (8.17 yards per carry), 15 catches for 196 yards, and 6 total touchdowns. 2023 is going to be loaded with running back talent and Bijan will be one of the top from the class. I put him as my #3a in my top 10 DEVY running backs in 2021.

Breece Hall – Iowa State : 6’ 1” 215 lbs.

Breece has the patience to wait for the hole and the vision to hit the hole with absolutely zero wasted moves. He’s also our first Sophomore on my list, so he has a chance to hit your squad in 2022, which might make him more attractive to you. As a true freshman, he had 186 carries for 897 yards (4.82 yards per carry) and 23 catches for 252 yards. Breece had 10 touchdowns as a freshman. Then his sophomore year came with 279 carries for 1,572 yards (5.63 yards per carry), 23 catches for 180 yards, and a whopping 23 touchdowns. I put him as my #3b (or #4) in my top 10 DEVY running backs in 2021.

Eric Gray – (Recent Transfer to Oklahoma from Tennessee) : 5’ 10” 205 lbs.

Tennessee is a train-wreck happening as we speak. Eric Gray decided to get out while he could and transfered to Oklahoma where he will be “The Man.” He can carry the load and catch the rock for you if your desire is a PPR running back. Our second Sophomore in Your 2021 Top 10 DEVY Running Backs had 101 carries for 539 yards (5.34 yards per carry) and 13 catches for 115 yards while scoring 5 touchdowns as a freshman. He had quite the jump in his sophomore year to 157 carries for 772 yards (4.92 yards per carry) and 30 catches for 254 yards for 6 touchdowns. I put him as my #3c (or #5) in my top 10 DEVY running backs in 2021.

Kyren Williams – Notre Dame : 5’ 9” 195 lbs.

Williams is another sophomore eligible to declare for the 2022 NFL Draft. After very minimal work as a freshman, Kyren showed his talent during his sophomore year. A very nice 211 carries for 1,125 yards (5.33 yards per carry), and add in an impressive 35 catches for 313 yards to score 14 total touchdowns, and you get another of my 2021 top 10 Devy Running Backs. He is super smooth and quick and will fit rather nicely on your 2022 Dynasty Roster!

Isaiah Spiller – Texas A&M : 6’ 1” 225 lbs.

Talk about consistency. This guy had nearly identical stats during his freshman and sophomore seasons. Another glider that likes the North and South route versus the foxtrot. He had 174 freshman carries for 946 yards (5.44 yards per carry) and 29 catches for 203 yards. Roll to 2020 for his sophomore year and see 188 carries, 1,036 yards (5.51 yards per carry)and 20 catches for 193 yards. 2022 roster addition? Yes please!

Max Borghi – Washington State : 5’ 10” 198 lbs.

Here is the DEVY PPR Monster! His freshman year produced 72 carries for 366 yards (5.08 yards per carry) and a wonderful 53 catches for 374 yards. Then for his encore during his sophomore season of 2019, he rushed for 817 yards off of 127 carries (6.43 yards per carry) and caught a beautiful 86 catches for 597 yards. Because he hurt his back in his first game as a junior, he has decided to return to Washington State and play one more year. You would be wise to stash him now so he can be on your roster for the 2022 season.

Marshawn Lloyd – South Carolina : 5’ 9” 210 lbs

After having one of the most spectacular runs during his senior high school year at DeMatha Catholic High School, Marshawn decided he would play for the South Carolina Gamecocks. However, in practice before the season started, he would tear his ACL in his left knee. He will come back strong and show that this injury will not stop him. He is a special kind of person and athlete. Don’t write him off just yet. And yes, that one run in high school was enough for me to put him in my 2021 Top 10 DEVY Running Backs!

Kenneth Walker III – (Recent Transfer to Michigan State from Wake Forest) : 5’ 10” 206 lbs.

He is not an eye popping running back–just a workman for his first two years. In 13 games as a freshman, Kenneth had 98 carries for 579 yards (5.91 yards per carry) and 3 catches for 17 yards with 4 total touchdowns. As a sophomore last year, he played just 7 games before opting out of the year due to COVID-19 concerns. How good was he in 7 games? How ’bout 119 carries for 579 yards (4.87 yards per carry) and 13 touchdowns, which was just 2 away from the Wake Forest school record! Now he transfers to Michigan State.
