Mike Davis Fantasy Outlook 2021
In this article, we are going to cover the Mike Davis fantasy outlook for 2021. We will share where we think he will rank amongst all running backs in 2021. Should you buy, hold or sell? Will Mike Davis be more or less valuable in 2022? Do we think he is going to be a league winner, weekly starter, flex play, spot starter, dark horse or dart throw? Included is all of this as well as personal opinions of the 14 people that participated from the RotoHeat staff.
Mike Davis Fantasy Outlook 2021: What is His Weekly Playability?
“Weekly starter” won the most picked choice, but overall it only received seven of the 14 total votes. 10 of the 14, however, did feel that he was someone you could start or flex each week.
Dart Throw: 1
Weekly Starter: 7
Weekly Flex: 3
Spot Starter: 2
League Winner: 1
Most leagues have 10-12 teams, two starting running backs and a flex. In these leagues, Mike Davis should be, and will be if healthy, starting for a team in your league. The one who had him as a league winner stated “Compared to ADP, I want to buy all of the Mike Davis this season. If you’re a contender and can get him for a 2nd, I would pounce on that in a heartbeat, as he has league winning upside”.
Mike Davis Fantasy Outlook 2021: More, Same or Less Valuable in 2022 Dynasty Offseason?
This was about as clear cut as any vote we have had thus far, as 12 of the 14 felt that he will be less valuable in 2022. He is 28 this year and on a relatively cheap two year contract ($5.5 million total), so this year may be his last chance to be a lead running back.
As one analyst put it “Not a long term solution and on a team that’s going to be looking for their future back next draft.”
Mike Davis Fantasy Outlook 2021: Buy, Sell or Hold?
As you can imagine, with most of us thinking his value will be lower in 2022 than it is now, most of us felt he is currently a sell candidate. One analyst in particular summed up the overall group feeling well with “Any kind of strong start should be a good time to sell and get what you can with whatever hype he has. Not a long term solution and on a team that’s going to be looking for their future back next draft.”
Mike Davis Fantasy Outlook 2021: Where Will He Rank vs. All Running Backs?
Five of the 14 of us believed he would fall in the RB 25-31 range, but nine of us felt that he would be in the 13-24 range, or an RB2 for most teams. One analyst who had him on the higher end stated “Opportunity is king in fantasy football, however I doubt it will last long term”.
High: RB 13
Low: RB 31
On the other side, of those that feel like he was closer to RB 31 said “The fact that Mike Davis is still a thing amazes me–especially how he fizzled out in Carolina. As soon as he has a decent game for ATL I will be looking to sell for whatever I can get for him.”
Mike Davis Fantasy Outlook 2021: Conclusion
Overall the team believes that Mike Davis is worthy of being a starting RB2 on your team this year. He showed himself able to carry the load of being “the guy” on a team for most of a season last year, and we feel that he will likely be able to do the same this year. Looking beyond that, if you can get a good trade value for him, and are looking to trade him, do it as we do not believe he will nearly as productive beyond this year.
