After 6 years with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Linebacker Bud Dupree is going to the Titans! The edge rushers dominated the signings on Day 1 of the Free Agency tampering period. Linebacker Bud Dupree is one of the better pass rushers out there with 8 sacks in 10 full games last year before tearing his ACL. Dupree says he will be ready for training camp. He is one of my top players, and that says he is a going to be expected to produce, and I believe he will in a very big way.
Bud Dupree is leaving the Pittsburgh Steelers
Bud Dupree has been very productive for the Steelers for the last 6 years. He played in 81 games and recorded 39.5 sacks. He had 19.5 of those sacks in his last 27 games. This shows that Dupree is in the prime of his career at 28 years old. Not only does he rush the passer, but he has had 99 tackles (72 solo) in the last 27 games. Add in 5 passes defensed, 6 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, and another 24 tackles for a loss, and Dupree was a vital part of a very good defense in Pittsburgh.
Linebacker Bud Dupree is going to the Titans
Bud Dupree’s new home in Nashville will provide another dominate situation. After he signed a 5-year contract worth up to $85 million, Dupree will team up with 4th year OLB Harold Landry who has basically the same job on the other side of the defense. This could be one of the most lethal pair of outside linebackers in the league. Add Landry’s 90 tackles and 14 sacks to Dupree’s 99 tackles and 19.5 sacks over the last 2 years, and you have a pair where the offense can not focus on just one of them.
After writing this piece, I have decided to target Dupree for my IDP Rosters. With Harold Landry on the opposite side, and Jayon Brown and Rashaan Evans manning the middle, this could end up being the best linebacker corps in the NFL.
