Here at RotoHeat, we are giving you the advice you need to stay ahead of your competition in your IDP leagues. A key move that wasn’t a move at all was Justin Simmons is staying with the Denver Broncos on a 4 year contract worth up to $61 Million and $35 Million guaranteed. Keeping Simmons was crucial to the Broncos plans of stabilizing their defense.
Safety Justin Simmons is Staying with the Denver Broncos
The best ability is availability. Simmons has played every game over the last 3 years. Over these past 3 years, he has averaged 95 tackles, with 71 of them being solo, per year. He has had 12 interceptions, 1 fumble recovery, 28 passes defensed, and 5 tackles for a loss over the past 3 years. He is a do it all safety staying with the same team. That means you can expect more of the same very high production.
The safety position is a very important position in our IDP leagues, and Simmons was 5th last year in my league. The 3rd year with Fangio can be a charm with Simmons taking over the #1 spot for IDP Safeties.
This will be Coach Vic Fangio’s 3rd year with the team, and his defense has not completely lived up to his expectations. Some of that would be because of injuries, while lack of personnel would also be to blame. New GM George Paton has already put his thumb print down by cutting Jurrell Casey and AJ Bouye, while signing Ronald Darby and Justin Simmons. If they add a top cornerback at #9 in the NFL Draft, and get Von Miller back to form, Simmons numbers could explode.
