Buy/Sell: JuJu Smith-Schuster Finishes Outside of the Top 15

Rob Sullivan: BUY

This one hurts my heart because I love JuJu Smith-Schuster. There are too many really good WR’s in this league, and JuJu will struggle to be a top 15-20 guy in the Steelers offense.  I certainly believe he will drastically improve on his WR62 finish from a year ago and be a solid backend WR2.

Rick Butts: BUY

It is not that JuJu isn’t good, but I do think that he was helped a lot by not being the focal point of opposing defenses.  I also think that we have a 3-headed WR core in Pittsburgh with Diontae Johnson and James Washington each commanding more targets as they grow as players.  Not to mention, there are a lot of good WRs in the league right now.

Taylor Cornell: SELL

I firmly believe 2019 was a little fluky for JuJu Smith-Schuster, and with the return of his old, reliable quarterback in 2020, I expect JuJu to return to form as a top-15 WR and a dynasty darling.

Sean Coffey: SELL

2019 is a season JuJu and the Steelers organization would like to forget. JuJu’s bad stats resulted in being hurt for a good part of the year and more importantly terrible QB play. After Big Ben was hurt, they had to rely on Hodges and Rudolph and it wasn’t a great result. Next season, JuJu will reconnect with Ben and great back on track as a top 10 WR.

Craig Bullock: BUY

I cautioned against the JuJu love last off-season. It was clear as day that losing Brown and Bell was going to make his life harder. The Roethlisberger injury was just the final nail in the coffin. I see no reason whatsoever to be more optimistic about JuJu this year. He will still be the main focus of defenses, the rest of the offense is dreadful, and I am not convinced Roethlisberger has anything left in the tank–let alone if he even plays this year.

Mike Altman: BUY

I am a believer that a great wide receiver can produce no matter what NFL QB is under center. JuJu showed us he is not a great NFL WR. The two games he had Ben Roethlisberger throwing him the ball, he only averaged 8.2 points per game. JuJu needs AB like a sail needs its wind. Similar to the rookie RB argument, the top WRs aren’t going away, and there’s an emergence of young blood as it is. I think it speaks volumes that the line was set at 15 and I am still not selling.

Consensus: 4-2(BUY)
