Gus Edwards Fantasy Outlook 2021

In this article, we are going to cover the Gus Edwards fantasy outlook for 2021. We will share where we think he will rank amongst all running backs in 2021. Should you buy, hold or sell? Will Gus Edwards be more or less valuable in 2022? Do we think he is going to be a league winner, weekly starter, flex play, spot starter, dark horse, or dart throw? Included are all of this as well as personal opinions of the 6 people that participated from the RotoHeat staff.

Gus Edwards Fantasy Outlook 2021: What Is His Weekly Playability?

For 2021, the RotoHeat team believes that Gus Edwards will be a weekly starter or perhaps a weekly flex if you’re playing dynasty and have a deep roster. The only things working against Edwards following the JK Dobbins injury is that most of the analysts believe he won’t be carrying the load all alone and that he is not involved in the passing game.

Gus Edwards Fantasy Outlook 2021: More, Same or Less Valuable in 2022 Dynasty Offseason?

When it comes to the value that Gus Edwards will hold in the 2022 offseason, the team believes his value and his ADP is largely going to remain the same for next season as it is right now, before his ADP corrects over the next two weeks with Dobbins news.

It’s natural that his ADP is going to go up from now and until the season begins given the Dobbins injury, so mind that in your drafts.

Gus Edwards Fantasy Outlook 2021: Buy, Sell or Hold?

With his newfound role as the lead back for the Ravens, what should you do with Gus Edwards?

Much of the team wants to sell him. As one analyst puts it: “[…] While I liked him as a backup and fill-in, right now he is just too overpriced, and I would sell while you can.”

If you play dynasty and you’re a contender, holding on to Edwards could help you, as he would strengthen your lineup as a starter or flex play, but if you’re rebuilding, you need to sell him.

Gus Edwards Fantasy Outlook 2021: Where Will He Rank vs. All Running Backs?

Rankings-wise, a back-end RB2 is where the team believes that Gus Edwards will end up.

However, this is just the expectation, and if he hits his true upside, the GUS BUS could end up cracking the top 15. Without the added pass-catching upside, we just see RB18 to RB24 in the cards for Edwards.

Low: RB24

Gus Edwards Fantasy Outlook 2021: Conclusion

As a result of a season-ending injury to JK Dobbins, Gus Edwards is now the lead back in the Ravens backfield (at least not counting Lamar Jackson). That puts him as a weekly starter somewhere in the RB18 to RB24 range, landing him as a solid RB2 play on a weekly basis.

Because his rise in ADP and relevance is due to an injury, the RotoHeat team sees the value of Gus Edwards in 2022 to remain as it was before the Dobbins injury–as a late-round back with some standalone value. As a result, you should sell Edwards right now while you have the opportunity, and you can likely gain a bit of extra value on a trade.
