We are past week 7 and getting an idea of if your team is going to compete for a title. Which players are going to help you get there and which are going to potentially slow you down? Let’s dive into this weeks hot and cold players to find out!

Hot Players

Michael Pittman Jr.

Pittman Jr. is quickly making his case to be a WR 1 in fantasy lineups. He came off a monster week with 2 early touchdowns with 10 receptions and 86 yards. He was targeted a staggering 15 times and has become a go-to guy for Carson Wentz. He is averaging a solid 16 points so far this fantasy season and with his later performances we can expect that average to slightly increase as the season moves forward. Pittman Jr. is a comfortable start in your weekly lineups.

Chris Godwin

Chris Godwin is on back to back 25+ fantasy points and has been averaging over 18 points this year. On a loaded Tampa offense Godwin continues to get consistent production every week. He is not dependent on touchdowns like others on that offense which makes plugging him into your weekly lineups much more comfortable. It is worth noting that AB has been out the past two weeks which resulted in a slight uptick in Godwin’s production. With AB coming back soon we will need to monitor the volume but Godwin has been a consistent guy Brady goes to in the middle of the field which he has done a majority of his career.

Michael Carter Jr.

Carter Jr. blew up this week putting up over 30 fantasy points. That Jets offense looked like a different animal with White taking over for an injured Zach Wilson and if he continues this production it is hard to imagine he doesn’t keep the job. Carter benefited heavily from the check downs by hauling in 9 receptions on 14 targets. Though we can’t continue to expect that similar production every week, it’s obvious that Michael Carter has taken over that backfield that was originally RBBC. Michael Carter Jr. has become a solid flex option in most of your leagues and a guy you dont hate to start if your team is injury stricken.

Cold Players

Patrick Mahomes

Typically I steer clear of mentioning QBs in hot and cold players but Patrick Mahomes was pretty much the unanimous 1st QB taken in your fantasy drafts this year. I’m not pressing the panic button on Patrick Mahomes just yet but he is coming off back to back terrible weeks and that Chiefs offense has looked mediocre at best against not very good defenses including the Titans and Giants. Patrick Mahomes is a generational talent and will inevitably get things back track but with how many injuries there have been this year I’d consider trading him hoping someone over pays to potentially get my team back on track.

Courtland Sutton

Courtland Sutton has been disappointing the past 2 weeks and that offense has not looked as flashy as it should. With Jerry Jeudy returning to action one would assume that Courtlans volume will take a slight hit and it sort of did this past week against a great matchup in the Washington Football team. Sutton saw an abysmal 4 targets and only hauled in 2 of them. I’m still plugging him into my flex position but he could quickly lose my trust if the struggles continue

Tim Patrick

I have 2 Broncos making my cold players list and rightfully so. Patrick hasnt eclipsed 10 points in his last 2 matchups either and again I can only imagine his target share decreasing with Jeudy suiting back up for that offense. The Broncos are loaded with solid WR and TE options and Teddy Bridgewater isn’t the kind of QB to be able to sustain consistent numbers for all of them. I am expecting a rotation of them having good and bad weeks and I don’t like to play the guessing game when i’m choosing flex players each week.
