Who is Devon Achane? So recently I participated in a startup Campus to Canton draft and found myself in a very interesting situation. For those that are unaware of that format, as a fantasy manager, you draft a college team and an NFL team. If any of your college players make it to the NFL they automatically go to your NFL squad. The endgame is hopefully creating a solid pipeline of prospects to create the ultimate dynasty team.
But back to the purpose of this article and my point about my interesting situation. It was coming around to my pick in the draft and I came across Devon Achane.
Achane has been a very interesting name that has been mentioned in devy circles and forums I’m a part of and it intrigued me to look a little deeper into his collegiate profile. Is he the next Texas A&M running back to watch and add to your Devy rosters?
Let’s take a look.

Time To Shine
Is it Achane’s time to shine? It should be. He is primed and set up to show if he can take advantage of more opportunities this upcoming season.
During his first 2 seasons at Texas A&M, he backed up future and current NFL rookie Isiah spiller. If you have been watching college football we all know how good spiller was.
But surprisingly in the 2021 season, Achane was able to have a breakout season alongside spiller which is very intriguing when looking at his stats. And to be honest I don’t think a lot of managers are aware of how good Achane is or can be.
In his 2 seasons at A&M, he has gained 1,274 rushing yards gaining 910 in the 2021 season as a backup respectfully. He also has a total of 15 touchdowns which shows he finds his way to the end zone and with more opportunities the skies are the limit. What I also like about Achane is that he contributes to special teams as well. His big playmaking ability can be intriguing for NFL teams with his versatility and game speed.

A Need For Speed
Now I can admit. I’m a sucker for insane athleticism and speed in prospects. Achane by far has both and with a verified 10.14 in the 100-meter dash, I may be sold with Achane as a riser in my devy rankings on the site.
That is considered elite speed in my book. With the NFL-loving speed and athleticism, Achane is a good prospect to keep your eyes on to pick up in your devy drafts.

2022 Devy Outlook
Devon Achane is an explosive electrifying athlete that could make a case as a top NFL prospect for the upcoming rookie running back class.
After looking at some film, Achane is a bit raw as far as shiftiness but when he hits a hole it’s straight to pay dirt more times than not. He has solid contact balance and can catch the ball with ease to be a possible 3-down back at the next level depending on the offensive scheme.
What I also like about Achane is that he has some toughness to him as well. He is not shy to lower his shoulder and give his defender a taste of his power as a runner.
Usually, you would think a track athlete would shy away from contact but not Achane. He is a certified baller. I came away impressed and I’m looking to acquire some shares of Achane as a sleeper to get sooner rather than later. He is primed for a monster season and could rise up draft boards quickly.
