Dawson Knox Fantasy Outlook 2021

In this article, we are going to cover the Dawson Knox fantasy outlook for 2021. We will share where we think he will rank amongst all tight ends in 2021. Should you buy, hold or sell? Will Dawson Knox be more or less valuable in 2022? Do we think he is going to be a league winner, weekly starter, flex play, spot starter, dark horse or dart throw? Included is all of this as well as the personal opinions of the 13 people that participated from the RotoHeat staff.

Dawson Knox Fantasy Outlook 2021: What Is His Weekly Playability?

Most of the team (11 of the 13) feel that Dawson is a spot starter or dart throw for 2021 fantasy football teams. We do not think he will get enough of a target share to start for most teams and think that any real relevancy he has will be due to touchdowns, which makes him a hard player to peg for a good week.

Darkhorse: 2

Dart Throw: 6

Even the RotoHeat team member most bullish on Dawson for this year felt that “There isn’t mush depth at the tight end position so he could finish anywhere between TE8-TE22. I’m concerned about the other receiving options in Buffalo for him to be a consistent fantasy starter.”

Dawson Knox Fantasy Outlook 2021: More, Same or Less Valuable in 2022 Dynasty Offseason?

Dawson currently comes in at TE34 in FantasyPros PPR Draft Positional ADP, and he is currently going undrafted in RotoHeat SF Dynasty Positional ADP. When taken as a whole, the RotoHeat teams believes he will end up right around this area again going into 2022.

Higher: 2
Same: 9
Lower: 3

One of those who thinks his ADP will be about the same said “I am indifferent on Dawson Knox the player, but what I do know is that Allen likes big plays and the TE isn’t involved enough in the offense to get excited about.”

Dawson Knox Fantasy Outlook 2021: Buy, Sell or Hold?

One of the sellers of Dawson said “Never done anything special and he isn’t going to get any number of targets that’ll make him worthwhile for your fantasy team.” One of the holders said almost the same thing “Knox has flashed before at times but looks very mediocre overall. Hold if you have him, but not worth a buy and can’t get enough to sell.”

Buy: 1
Hold: 5
Sell: 7

Neither the holders or sellers think there is much of a future as a fantasy football starter for Dawson Knox, so if you are a holder or seller, it really seems to come down to whether or not you think you could get something for him.

Dawson Knox Fantasy Outlook 2021: Where Will He Rank vs. All Tight Ends?

When you average out our views on Dawson this year we feel that he will end up in the TE23-29 range. This is a back-end TE2, high-end TE3 in 12 team leagues. Five of us had him in the TE19 range, and six of us had him in the TE25-31 range.

High: TE 13
Low: TE 36

This jives with the earlier assertion the team had that he is either a spot starter or dart throw for 2021. Like most of the comments before, people just have concerns with the target share he will get.

Dawson Knox Fantasy Outlook 2021: Conclusion

In summation, the team thinks Knox is in that wide group of late round tight ends to take a flier on if you like him. Generally speaking we do not think he will be targeted enough to make a weekly impact, but the intriguing upside and talent that he brought into the league is still there; it is just a question of whether he puts it together and gets targeted.
