49ers Sign TE Jordan Reed
The San Francisco 49ers have agreed to terms with former Washington Football Team TE Jordan Reed on a 1-year incentive-based contract as per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
We last saw Reed in the preseason last season. He missed the entire season with complications due to a concussion. In 2018 Reed appeared in 13 games for Washington, and finished as TE15 with 119.8 PPR points. Reed has never appeared in all of his team’s 16 games in his 6-year career.
Reed was drafted in the third round, 85th overall pick, by the Washington in the 2013 NFL Draft. In parts of six seasons, Reed has totaled 329 receptions, 3371 yards and 24 TDs. Reed’s injury history is a mile long, and it was thought that the 30-year old TE would retire after being released by Washington.
His roster spot is far from a lock and if he does indeed make the 53-man final roster will have a limited role. George Kittle will dominate snaps and targets regardless of who the Niners might bring in.
