In episode 15 of the Devy Hour, Brad & Paul do a 2021 rookie mock review, after fan comments and a few more weeks of football to digest. We talk about guys that may or may not have been drafted too high (or at all due to injury). So before we get into risers/fallers, let’s review the 2021 rookie mock we are reviewing!

2021 Rookie Mock – Round 1

1.1 Ja’Marr Chase – WR LSU
1.2 Journey Brown – RB PSU
1.3 Travis Etienne – RB Clemson
1.4 Kenneth Gainwell – RB Memphis
1.5 Rashod Bateman – WR Minnesota
1.6 Jaylen Waddle – WR Alabama
1.7 Najee Harris – RB Alabama
1.8 Brevin Jordan – TE Miami
1.9 Chuba Hubbard – RB OK State
1.10 Rondale Moore – WR Purdue
1.11 Kyle Pitts – TE Florida
1.12 Amon-Ra St. Brown – WR USC

Unfortunately, Journey Brown will have to prematurely end his career, and some of the others have opted out of the 2020 season, so the 1st round is going based on a mix of 2019/2020 tape. As we talked through the first two rounds, we saw a couple players we thought could move into the 1st round of your rookie drafts, including Georgia running back Zamir White.

White has looked like he really stepped up his game ins 2020, showing a ton of explosiveness and all the tools that can push him early into the NFL, and in turn your rookie drafts in 2021. Auburn wide receiver Seth Williams is another player that could really push his stock up finishing strong and showing well at the combine.

Williams is a prototypical “X” receiver and with his athletic profile, he could easily be a player teams fall in love with come the draft. As we moved into the 2nd round analysis, we see some of the players we thought could move into the 1st but we also brought up players we thought could push into the 2nd round of your rookie drafts.

2021 Rookie Mock – Round 2

2.1 Zamir White – RB Georgia
2.2 Seth Williams – WR Auburn
2.3 Trevor Lawrence – QB Clemson
2.4 Pat Freiermuth – TE PSU
2.5 Trey Sermon – RB OSU
2.6 DeVonta Smith – WR Alabama
2.7 Tylan Wallace – WR OK State
2.8 Max Borghi – RB Washington State
2.9 Justin Fields – QB OSU
2.10 Trey Lance – QB SDSU
2.11 Tamorrion Terry – WR FSU
2.12 Sage Surratt – WR Wake Forrest

2021 Rookie Mock
COLUMBUS, OH – NOVEMBER 23: Chris Olave #17 of the Ohio State Buckeyes makes the catch for a 28-yard touchdown pass over John Reid #29 of the Penn State Nittany Lions in the fourth quarter at Ohio Stadium on November 23, 2019 in Columbus, Ohio. Now when it came to the 2nd round, Paul and I believe a few of these names could drop off, with players like Zach Wilson from BYU really showing strongly this year. I also brought up Chris Olave, WR Ohio State as a guy I think has a great opportunity to make a big impact in fantasy, and ultimately push into the 2nd round of rookie drafts. With these players pushing into the 2nd round, who falls you ask? We think guys like Sage Surratt, Tamorrion Terry and Tylan Wallace have the potential to slip as we inch closer to draft season.
