2021 NFL Week 6 IDP Waiver Wire Adds

Week 6 brings the start of bye week for the season and the first four teams are the Atlanta Falcons, New York Jets, New Orleans Saints and San Francisco 49ers. It can be worth your while to look ahead at upcoming bye week issues on your team to find players ahead of time for those weeks, if your bench size allows for it.

Remember to always check your lineups before games start for late-breaking injuries and unexpected starters, and you can find the RotoHeat IDP scoring here.

2021 NFL Week 6 IDP Waiver Wire Adds: Linebackers

2021 NFL Week 6 IDP Waiver Wire Adds: Linebackers
2021 NFL Week 6 IDP Waiver Wire Adds: Linebackers – Damien Wilson

Anthony Barr, Linebacker, Minnesota Vikings
Ownership: Sleeper 0%, Yahoo 1%

Anthony Barr returned to the Vikings starting lineup in Week 5 after missing the first four weeks of the season. Barr played 100% of the snaps and bumped Nick Vigil down to a 37% snap share. He only had 3 solos and 1 assist in the game, but Week 6 brings the Panthers who have not done Sam Darnold any favors in terms of protecting him this year. With bye weeks starting and a number of IDP relevant linebackers out due to injury and now bye, Barr is a proven veteran you can plug in to get a floor game from.
*Be aware: Week 7 bye week

AJ Klein, Linebacker, Buffalo Bills
Ownership: Sleeper 0%, Yahoo 1%

AJ Klein is a name known in most veteran IDP leagues from his time in Carolina, New Orleans and most recently in Buffalo. When Matt Milano is out like he was last week Klein is the guy who fills in. Klein has 8 solos and 1 assist on a 63% snap share for Buffalo in Week 5 as their number two linebacker behind Tremaine Edmunds. This add is contingent on Milano not playing, but Week 6 brings Tennessee who gives up the most points to opposing linebackers. Klein is a great play if Milano does not.
*Be aware: Week 7 bye week

Damien Wilson, Linebacker, Jacksonville Jaguars
Ownership: Sleeper 0%, Yahoo 2%

Play calling has been taken away from Myles Jack and was shared between safety Rayshawn Jenkins and Wilson. Jack left due to a back injury and Wilson ended up as the linebacker with the majority of snaps (86%). The coaching staff seems to have lost confidence is Jack and given it to Wilson. Wilson has had at least 5 combined tackles each game, so like Barr he is a nice floor play for bye weeks, and potentiall the rest of the year.
*Be aware: Week 7 bye week

Kevin Minter, Linebacker, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Ownership: Sleeper 0%, Yahoo 0%

Lavonte David left with what is believed to be a high ankle sprain and that usually keeps players out a few weeks. Veteran Kevin Minter filled in for him and will likely take his starting spot while he is out. Kevin had a 48% snap share with David leaving early and ended with 2 solos and 1 assist. He is more of a desperation play or bench depth piece with Lavonte out, but any starting linebacker with a high snap share is worth checking into.

2021 NFL Week 6 IDP Waiver Wire Adds: Defensive Backs

2021 NFL Week 6 IDP Waiver Wire Adds: Defensive Backs
2021 NFL Week 6 IDP Waiver Wire Adds: Defensive Backs – Jordan Whitehead

Jordan Whitehead, Safety, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Ownership: Sleeper 0%, Yahoo 2%

After missing Week 1 due to injury, Jordan has a 79% snap share in the four games he has played. That should be higher once again if fellow starter Antoine Winfield Jr misses Week 6, but either way Week 6 brings the Philadelphia Eagles who give up the 3rd most points to opposing safetys this year. Jordan has 13 solos, 1 assist and 1 TLF on the year, which isn’t a ton, but I like the match-up.

Julian Blackmon, Safety, Indianapolis Colts
Ownership: Sleeper 0%, Yahoo 1%

The Colts play the Ravens this Monday night so we only have four games of stats for Julian. Through those four he has over a 99% snap share on the season, and 18 solos, 5 assists, 1 TFL, and 1 PD to show for it. Week 6 brings the Houston Texans who give up the 11th most points to opposing safetys.

Janoris Jenkins, Cornerback, Tennessee Titans
Ownership: Sleeper 0%, Yahoo 4%

Janoris leads the Titans cornerbacks with nearly a 97% snap share this year, and the secondary has been hit hard with injuries recently. Week 6 brings the Buffalo Bills, who give up the most points to opposing cornerback so far this year. With 18 solos, 5 assists, and 2 PD on the year, Janoris is a nice cornerback play this week.

2021 NFL Week 6 IDP Waiver Wire Adds: Defensive Linemen

2021 NFL Week 6 IDP Waiver Wire Adds: Defensive Linemen
2021 NFL Week 6 IDP Waiver Wire Adds: Defensive Linemen – Ed Oliver

Everson Griffen, Defensive End, Minnesota Vikings
Ownership: Sleeper 0%, Yahoo 3%

Since missing Week 2 due to a concussion from a car accident with a deer, Everson has had the following games:

Week 3: 64% snap share, 1 solo, 2 assists, 1 TFL, and 1 sack
Week 4: 55% snap share, 3 solos, 1 TFL, and 1 sack
Week 5: 72% snap share, 2 solos, 2 assists, 1 TFL, 2 sacks, and 1 forced fumble

Week 6 brings the Carolina Panthers, who are giving up the most points to opposing defensive ends this year. I am riding the hot hand and getting Griffen where I can that I do not already have him.
*Be aware: Week 7 bye week

Trey Flowers, Defensive End, Detroit Lions
Ownership: Sleeper 0%, Yahoo 2%

Trey Flowers returned for injury and was not on a reduced snap share, ending with a 78% snap share. This led the defensive end/EDGE group (Charles Harris was second with 69%). Flowers had a good game (4 solos, 1 assist, 1 TFL, and 1 sack) and Week 6 brings Cincinnati, who is tied for 6th in most sacks allowed this year.

Ed Oliver, Defensive Tackle, Buffalo Bills
Ownership: Sleeper 0%, Yahoo 9%

Ed has not lived up to his college hype or the IDP fantasy football hype of being the #9 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft; he has been a quality NFL player and has been fantasy relevant in DT or IL required leagues though. He leads the defensive tackles for Buffalo with a 57% snap share and has 10 solos, 1 assist, and 3 TFL in 5 games this year. That is nothing amazing, but Tennessee is their Week 6 opponent and they give up the second most points to opposing defensive tackles this year.
*Be aware: Week 7 bye week
