2021 NFL Week 4 IDP Waiver Wire Adds

I don’t quite know what to make of this season. Maybe it is a faulty memory, but this year feels like a continuation of last year’s weirdness which we thought was an anomoly. Lots of injuries, rotations and unclear status through three games as to who is going to do what this year. Studs are not producing and each week has random guys pop up. Regardless, we need to find those IDP waiver wire gems for you and that is what we are here to do!

So let’s get into who we like for 2021 NFL Week 4 IDP Waiver Wire Adds!

2021 NFL Week 4 IDP Waiver Wire Adds: Linebackers

2021 NFL Week 4 IDP Waiver Wire Adds: Linebackers – Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah

Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, Linebacker, Cleveland Browns
Ownership: Sleeper 2%, Yahoo 5%

JOK is more of a speculative add going forward than a “must have for right now add.” He has just been getting his feet wet to this point (40% snap share Week 1 and 30% in Week 2) but with the injuries the Browns have had at linebacker, he had an uptick in Week 3 (51%). He used that increase in snaps to continue to show why he was viewed as a potential difference-maker in the draft.

He started for the injured and ineffective Sione Takitaki in Week 3 and had 3 solos, 1 assist, .5 TFL and 2 PD. With the Browns hoping to be in contention for a Super Bowl, JOK may continue to be brought along slowly, but his ability to play all over the field will be useful, and I see him gaining more playing time as the season goes on.

Tae Crowder, Linebacker, New York Giants
Ownership: Sleeper 0%, Yahoo 37%

One of the higher rostered players we have gone over, Crowder is worth mentioning as he took over play-calling for the Giants after Blake Martinez was hurt. We found out today that Martinez tore his ACL and will be out for the year.

Crowder ended with 98% snap share in Week 3 after 38% and 59% the two weeks prior. He finished Week 3 with 4 solos, 7 assists and 1 PD, so he is certainly a worthwhile add.

Ja’Whaun Bentley, Linebacker, New England Patriots
Ownership: Sleeper 0%, Yahoo 1%

I wrote about Bentley this offseason and he is right up there with Dont’a Hightower (5 solos, 4 assists through three weeks) for non-edge linebacker snaps for the Patriots. He is also vastly outproducing Hightower; Bentley has 11 solos, 2 assists, 2 TFL an 1 PD through three weeks. Hightower still has the name recognition of the two, but Bentley is the guy to own right now.

Kyle Van Noy showed up Week 3 to 71% of snaps, but only had 2 solos and 1 assist; Bentley had 6 solos and 1 assist in 48%. I still like Bentley as the guy to produce the best out of this group for the year.

Quincy Williams, Linebacker, New York Jets
Ownership: Sleeper 0%, Yahoo 0%

The Jets spent the offseason trying to find a linebacker to play next to CJ Mosely and thought they had someone in Jarrad Davis until he got hurt. The former third round pick of the Jaguars was waived at the end of August and the Jets claimed him the next day.

He did not play Week 1, had a 91% snap share Week 2 (4 solos, 2 assists, 2 TFL) and a 94% share in Week 3 (6 solos and 3 TFL). He may lose his job when Jarrad Davis comes back, but for how Quincy is a great waiver add.

2021 NFL Week 4 IDP Waiver Wire Adds: Defensive Backs – Paulson Adebo

Terrell Edmunds, Safety, Pittsburgh Steelers
Ownership: Sleeper 0%, Yahoo 2%

The brother of Bills’ linebacker Tremaine Edmunds has put on a nice start to the year in a contract year (he was a first round pick in 2018). He has been used in a box quite a bit the past two weeks (61 of 114 with the linebacker injuries the Steelers have had). He has been on the field for 100%, 100% and 79% of snaps each week. The 79% in Week 3 was from missing just 10 snaps, as he played on 37 of the Steelers 47 defensive snaps.

He is a top 25 safety on the year with 11 solos, 5 assists, 3 TFL, 1 PD and 1 INT. The Steelers are a top 5 team in run defense and a bottom 5 team in coverage this year which tells me teams will continue to pass on them. With Green Bay on tap for Week 4, Edmunds is a good add for the week and going forward this year.

Ronnie Harrison, Safety, Cleveland Browns
Ownership: Sleeper 0%, Yahoo 1%

Playing 8% Week 1, 87% Week 2 and 100% in Week 3, Ronnie has been the best fantasy football safety for the Browns so far this year. Over 40% of his snaps have been on the defensive line or in the box. Despite only five snaps in Week 1 (he was ejected early on) he has 8 solos, 3 assists, 2 TFL, 1 sack and 1 PD.

Week 4 brings the Vikings who have been airing it out and will likely do so again against a Browns team that is scoring a lot itself.

Paulson Adebo, Cornerback, New Orleans Saints
Ownership: Sleeper 0%, Yahoo 3%

A third round rookie out of Stanford, Paulson played 100% and 99% of snaps the first two weeks. He leads Saints CBs in playing time and stayed at 100% in Week 3 even with the return of Marshon Lattimore.

He has scored at least 5 points each week (using the RotoHeat scoring we have discussed) and on the year has 13 solos, 2 assists, 1 PD and 1 INT. Paulson likely would have been a higher pick in the 2020 draft if he had entered, but not declaring and then sitting out the year in college due to COVID had him fall behind players like Patrick Surtain II, Jaycee Horn, and Greg Newsome, among others. Lattimore being back bodes well for more targets going towards Paulson, and the Giants (Week 4 opponent) are a top 5 team in points allowed to cornerbacks.

2021 NFL Week 4 IDP Waiver Wire Adds: Defensive Linemen

2021 NFL Week 4 IDP Waiver Wire Adds: Defensive Linemen
2021 NFL Week 4 IDP Waiver Wire Adds: Defensive Linemen – Trey Hendrickson

Trey Hendrikson, Defensive End, Cincinnati Bengals
Ownership: Sleeper 2%, Yahoo 4%

Hendrickson had a big year with the Saints last year and signed a big contract with the Bengals in the offseason. Sam Hubbard is the better player in real life and fantasy, but Hendrickson has produced this year too. He is more of a big player type player as he does not get a lot of tackles. He did not register any basic IDP stats in Week 1, but the past two weeks he has had a total of 2 solos, 3 assists, 2.5 sacks, 1 TFL and 1 forced fumble.

Week 4 brings the Jacksonville Jaguars’ mess. They are middle of the road with pass blocking this year and will need to be throwing to keep up with the Bengals. I am not a huge fan of Hendrickson as a year long play, but he looks like a decent spot starter here if you need one, and does have year long upside potential.

Al-Quadin Muhammad, Defensive End, Indianapolis Colts
Ownership: Sleeper 0%, Yahoo 0%

Week 4 brings the Dolphins who are in the top half of the league in terms of fantasy points allowed to defensive ends, and they gave up two sacks and seven QB hits to the Raiders this past week. Al-Quadin has manned one defensive end spot for most of the snaps for the Colts this year and produced decently well.

Week 1: 70% snap share, 2 solos 1 assist, .5 sack
Week 2: 61% snap share, 2 solos, 1 TFL, 1 sack
Week 3: 78% snap share, 5 solos, 2 assists, 1 TFL

He is a top 30 player for Edge in RotoHeat scoring, and top 20 for defensive ends. If you need a steady few points from a boom or bust position, Al-Quadin looks like a nice pick-up.

Zach Sieler, Defensive Tackle/Defensive End, Miami Dolphins
Ownership: Sleeper 0%, Yahoo 1%

We mentioned Sieler in this column at the end of last year and he bears discussing again. He is only getting around a 50% snap share but he produces when on the field. He has had a nice stat line for DT or IL required leagues in each week thus far, and as we discussed above, the Colts and Dolphins play Week 4. The Colts are in the top 10 in points allowed to opposing defensive tackles. Sieler should be owned in IL or DT required leagues.

Week 1: 37% snap share, 2 solos, 1 assist, 1 TFL, and 1 fumble recovery
Week 2: 52% snap share, 4 solos 2 assists
Week 3: 51% snap share, 4 solos, 5 assists, 1 PD
