2021 NFL Draft Pick 96: Patriots Select Ronnie Perkins

With the 96th pick of the 2021 NFL Draft, Ronnie Perkins was drafted by the New England Patriots.

Ronnie played as a true freshman in 2018, and in three seasons he played in 32 games, missing six games due to a suspension for banned substances at the end of the 2019 season. In his three seasons he had 98 tackles (61 solo), 32 TFL, 16.5 sacks, one pass defended and one forced fumble. He ended the 2020 season as a member of the All-Big 12 Second Team.

Fantasy Implications

Perkins had outstanding college production, is strong and violent with great hands. He has to learn to play under control and smarter at times, but he has a chance to develop into a very nice EDGE piece for the Patriots. He will have a chance to be use all over the defensive line and as a stand-up EDGE, but will not have to play right away with the pieces they have ahead of him. He is more of a long-term stash than someone you would need to draft this year.
