2021 NFL Draft Pick 90: Vikings Select Patrick Jones II

With the 90th pick of the 2021 NFL Draft, Patrick Jones II was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings.

Patrick started 12 games as a true freshman in 2018, and in three seasons he played in 39 games. He ended his college career with Pittsburgh he had 112 tackles (67 solo), 23 passes defended, five TFL, four interceptions, four forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery and one touchdown. After his Junior year he was a First Team All-SEC player, SEC Defensive Player of the Year and Consensus All-American.

Fantasy Implications

This is a really interesting long-term draft choice, as after their starters there isn’t a ton of viable options. He brings a really solid motor and ability to rush the passer, which in fantasy sacks and tackles can really bring you fantasy success. From a draft capital perspective, I’m not spending a high-end IDP pick on him but he’s certainly a player I’d stash on my taxi squad, especially if you play in deeper IDP leagues.
